‘It was such a special time’
A former Emmerdale star has refused to rule out making a dramatic return to the ITV soap.
Jessie Elland, who played Chloe Harris in Emmerdale, was involved in her fair share of major storylines during her stint in the show. Jessie was in Emmerdale between 2021 and 2023.
Since leaving, she’s enjoyed a busy year. She’s currently touring the country as part of 101 Dalmatians – The Musical. While, Jessie will soon celebrate the release of her first novel. Her book The Ladie Upstairs is set to hit shelves in May 2025.
We caught up with her to discuss her experiences touring the UK with 101 Dalmatians. Touching on the last 12 months, Jessie said: “I feel very, very lucky. Everything I’m doing at the minute is everything I dreamt of doing as cheesy as that sounds.
“The people that I’ve met in this job (the musical), on Emmerdale and doing book things have been the icing on the cake. They have made it even more special and even more memorable. I feel very, very lucky.”
Jessie’s Emmerdale character Chloe was involved in a love triangle with Mack and Charity. It also saw the acting star take part in a number of stunts. Reflecting, Jessie said: “It was such a special time. I know it is a cliche to say but it really was like a family there. I made some friends for life. Obviously, it is nearly a year now and some reminders pop up on your phone and I can’t believe that happened. It still hasn’t truly sunk in what an amazing time filming it was.”
Character Chloe left the village with her child Reuben. Could we, one day, see Chloe rock the village?
“I would never so no to returning which is so lucky that they have left the door open. It is such a special place. It was so bittersweet to leave but it is obviously exciting as I get to work on amazing projects like this (101 Dalmatians) and you build experience and growth as a performer.
“But I would always be open to going back one day – if they’d have me.”
As always, we’ll keep you posted with the Emmerdale character comings and goings.
