EastEndjsoners fans were left fuming as they spotted major blunders during Thursday’s episode of the BBC soap as they claimed that they would stop watching the show
EastEnders has revealed the fate of Bianca Jackson after she was assaulted by murderer Reiss Colwell.
The outspoken Walford local, portrayed by Patsy Palmer, has been on a quest to expose her sister Sonia Fowler’s (Natalie Cassidy) fiance Reiss (Jonny Freeman) for weeks.
She recently unearthed video evidence linking him to the murder of his wife Debbie Colwell and confronted him about it and Reiss eventually confessed to killing Debbie during a conversation with Bianca, who pledged to bring him to justice with the incriminating evidence.
However, a frantic Reiss smashed the laptop Bianca had been using to view the CCTV footage, thereby destroying the evidence. An emotional Reiss revealed his past caring for Debbie and his motives for killing his comatose wife but refused to confess – despite knowing that pregnant Sonia would be imprisoned because of it.
Bianca demanded that Reiss turn himself in and do the right thing, but he proposed they find a way to free Sonia without sending Reiss to jail. Reiss claimed he had hidden Debbie’s murder weapon, a pillow, in a storage facility and would give it to her if she allowed him to escape the country.
Armed with a candlestick for protection, Bianca agreed to go along with Reiss’s plan for Sonia’s sake. While accompanying him in the facility, Bianca discovered it was lined with soundproof insulation, and Reiss confessed there was no pillow before attacking a screaming Bianca with a metal object and a blanket, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Thursday’s episode (November 7), which is available to watch on BBC iPlayer, kicked off with a bloodied Reiss frantically returning to Sonia’s house, lugging a suspiciously heavy chest, hinting at the possibility that he had killed Bianca and was now trying to get rid of her body.
Reiss, nursing a head wound of his own, was soon confronted by Martin Fowler (James Bye), who was full of questions about Reiss’s recent activities and noticed his injury. He blamed Bianca for all the ensuing chaos, but Reiss simply shut him out.
Later on, DI Callum Highway (Tony Clay) paid Reiss a visit, accompanied by Martin, and started probing into what happened with Bianca. Meanwhile, Reiss was in a state of panic, trying to hide the chest in another room.
Martin spread rumours around the Square about Bianca’s alleged actions and also disclosed that the police had discovered Bianca’s taco van deserted near a train station, suggesting she had run away from the crime scene.
In a twist of events, as Reiss attempted to move the chest using his car, Bianca’s uncle Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) accidentally crashed into Reiss’s vehicle with the chest still in the boot. However, Reiss managed to flee the scene.
The episode concluded with Reiss returning to the storage facility where it was revealed that Bianca was indeed alive and chained up. Despite this shocking revelation, viewers were left scratching their heads over several mistakes they noticed during the episode.
Soap fans took to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, to vent their frustrations with a recent plot twist. One viewer wrote: “So no one followed him to the storage unit? Not a single nosey neighbour, no? Not even Mo? Ok. i’m not watching this show anymore.”
Another chimed in: “If I was Bianca I’d keep calm and just look for something sharp to cut the chains off… your in a storage unit there’s gonna be something sharp to use.”
And a third exasperated fan exclaimed: “I’m so sorry but this Reiss storyline is p***ing me off to my core. and MARTIN? ! ? ! MARTIN! ! ! ! ! ! ! Your days are numbered! ! ! ! ! ! “.
