Hollyoaks fans are convinced that they have worked out the identity of Leela Dexter’s newborn baby daddy – and it’s not her husband Joel Dexter or his brother Abe Fielding
Hollyoaks viewers reckon they’ve rumbled who the real daddy of Leela Dexter’s baby girl.
Firefighter Leela, played by Kirsty-Leigh Porter gave birth earlier this week but her other half Joel Dexter (Rory Douglas-Speed) was AWOL after getting a voicemail from his ex Cleo McQueen (Nadine Mulkerrin) begging him to stay away.
Fans of the Channel 4 soap know Cleo is currently being held hostage by Joel’s brother Abe Fielding (hunky Tyler Conti) in his flat, while everyone thinks she’s sunning it up in Bali. The message caused Leela to fly off the handle, chucking Joel out.
After their argument, Leela’s waters broke and Abe was the one with her as she went to hospital. Leela gave birth but Joel missed the special moment and things are set to get even worse.
In the episode on Wednesday (November 6), which fans can already watch on Channel 4’s site, Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) dropped by Leela’s home and the new mum dropped a bombshell that implied Joel might not be her baby girls’ father, reports the Liverpool Echo.
To Leela, Mercedes said: “You need to tell Joel or it’s only going to get worse.” An edgy new mum Leela fired back: “I should have told him when it happened and I didn’t so now I’m just going to have to deal with it.”
Mercedes reassured her pal, saying: “He’s not going to up and leave you, he’ll understand. He’s a good guy.” Leela fretted: “You haven’t seen how besotted he is. All he’s ever wanted is to be a daddy and now he’s got a chance. Mercedes, he’s already lost one baby I can not take another one away.”
Mercedes warned: “If you don’t tell the truth and that comes out.” Leela snapped back: “It won’t. As far as he’s concerned, and everybody else, that baby is his.:”.
Fans on social media are buzzing with theories, with one writing: “Possible Dodger that’s why he coming back in.” Another chimed in: “Abe is too obvious so maybe it’s Dodger.” A third speculated: “I think she had a one night stand with some random, who may well turn out to be Dodger? .”
Danny Mac has confirmed his bombshell return to Hollyoaks as Dodger Savage, 10 years after he last set foot in the village. The hunk couldn’t hide his excitement about returning, stating: “After a decade away, I’m thrilled to be returning and reuniting with my incredible co-stars, old friends and a character very close to my heart.”
“Dodger escaped, leaving a great deal behind. I’ve always wondered whether he could return and who he might have become in the 10 years since he ran away. Now that he’s back, there’s a lot to uncover, but one way or another, we will finally find out.”
Hollyoaks airs Monday to Wednesday on E4 at 7pm and first look episodes can be streamed Channel 4 from 7am
