Ross had words to say to another villager after he made his return
In tonight’s episode of ITV Emmerdale, Ross said what ‘most of the viewers have been saying for ages’ during a confrontation with Charity’s partner Mackenzie.
Ross Barton, portrayed by Mike Parr, returned to the show last month after six years away. He came back to find his ex and mother of his child Charity was now with Mackenzie Boyd. This comes after Ross’ other ex Rebecca White had passed away, leaving her son Seb in the care of an aunt.
Mackenzie, played by Lawrence Robb, gave Ross advice, encouraging him to act like a better father. Despite the fact, Mackenzie cheated on Charity and fathered a child with another woman.
Ross doesn’t take the advice well. A fan took to X air their feelings about Ross’ comeback. @HStrawbridge said: “Watched today’s episode early. No spoilers but love that Ross said what most of the viewers have been saying for ages.”
When Mackenzie was confronting Ross, he said: “You’re on your uppers, you’ve not got any friends or family, here, and what happened to your ex must have been really tragic. So you must really miss your step son Seb. So I can understand why you want to get back and reconnect with Moses You’ve got to get back on track. Give your life some meaning again and be a dad, present.”
Ross replied: “And be like you? St Mackenzie! But didn’t your halo slip when you knocked up a teenager and broke Charity’s heart? Oh, and where is your kid? That’s right, the mother doesn’t want you to have everything to do with him. Not exactly father of the year, are you? Or husband, for that matter.”
“We’ve put all that behind us,” said Mackenzie. Ross said: “Hmm, me and charity, we had a heart to heart, yesterday. We’ve still got a connection.”
Mack said: “You’ve got Moses.” Ross chuckled: “It’s much more than that, mate. It’s fireworks!” He then lifted a box of fireworks and walked out of the room.
