EastEnders’ Suki and Eve in crisis after discovery that ‘rips them apart’

Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) and Eve Unwin’s (Heather Peace) future happiness is left hanging in the balance in EastEnders next week, when Eve makes a discovery that threatens to rip them apart.

Eve has been in Yorkshire for the past few weeks to care for her estranged mother, who vengeful Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) arranged to have attacked in the hope Eve’s absence would allow him to get closer to ex-wife Suki.

During her time away from the Sqaure, Nish tricked Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) into revealing the truth about Keanu Taylor’s (Danny Walters) murder.

Using this discovery to his advantage, he blackmailed Suki into agreeing to get back with him, before moving back into the family home and arranging a blessing ceremony with Suki.

However, a shock twist on Halloween later saw Nish take the rap for Keanu’s death.

With Nish now behind bars, Eve returns to Walford next week none the wiser about what has happened while she has been away.

Suki begs the Panesars to keep quiet about her and Nish’s blessing so she can tell Eve herself, but a case of crossed wires means Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) accidentally blows the secret wide open.

‘It comes out of the blue,’ actress Heather Peace, who plays Eve, explains. ‘Eve doesn’t understand the motivation behind it.’

She continues: ‘What we have to remember is that Eve has been here before where she and Suki were together and then she went back to Nish. When they were having the affair, Suki was still sleeping with Nish, so Eve has dealt with this before.

‘The jealousy she feels is based on what Eve has already been through with Suki. She had to live with the heartbreak of knowing her soul mate, the woman she is completely in love with, was sharing a bed with Nish.’

When a reeling Eve doesn’t buy Suki’s attempts to explain herself, she then heads to The Vic, where there are more shocks to come…

Is this the end for ‘Sukeve’?

EastEnders airs these scenes from Monday 11 November at 7.30pm on BBC One and from 6am on iPlayer.
