Emmerdale fans reckon Chas Dingle is set to a shock pregnancy twist – but Liam Cavanagh isn’t the baby’s dad
Emmerdale’s Chas Dingle could be set for a shock pregnancy storyline – but fans are certain Liam Cavanagh isn’t the father.
Soap favourite Chas (Lucy Pargeter) has been at the heart of the Dales shenanigans since 2003. And it’s fair to say she’s played a part in several big storylines on the ITV soap.
From affairs to cancer, her time in the village has not been short of drama. Especially at the moment, as over in the soap recently, she locked lips with taken man Liam (Jonny McPherson).
Fans will recall how Chas and Liam briefly dated earlier this year, amid Chas’ cancer battle. However, in the past few months, he has rekindled things with former flame Ella Forster (Paula Lane).
During last week’s trip to the Dales though, Liam ended up cheating on Ella with Chas after they kissed each other at the back of the pub.
Adamant she wouldn’t be the “other woman,” Chas demanded Liam to end things with Ella. Liam eventually called it quits with Ella – leaving her heartbroken and confused as to why he was ending things. And during Monday’s episode (November 4) Chas and Liam decided to keep their relationship quiet for now.
However, in what would be a huge twist fans are certain Charity could be pregnant. But adding more drama to the storyline, viewers reckon Liam isn’t the baby’s father.
On a Reddit thread, one person mused: “Who thinks Chas is gonna pregnant with her and Liam’s baby lol.” Someone else wrote: “The actress is 47, still possible for her to still get pregnant but obviously decreasingly likely each year. Soap land is never one for scientific accuracy.” A third agreed: “I think it’s very likely.”
Other viewers shared their theory that Liam might not be the baby’s father. A fan mused: “What if the dad is someone else though?” A second replied: “Paddy? That would be a huge twist. Maybe off-screen and drunk?” A third said: “Could do. Not sure if he would do that to Mandy though,” as a fourth penned: “I would be so here for this!”
Speaking to Digital Spy earlier this year, Lucy Pargeter – who plays Chas –spoke out about Liam and Chas. She said: “I think she’s probably going back to what she knows because of the fear of going forward with somebody new.
“But it’ll be interesting to see if it does go anywhere. I think Liam and Chas make an interesting couple. When Paddy was with Chas, a lot of people said that they weren’t a good match.I think Liam’s quite different to Chas but I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing. They could be a good match.”
