ITV Coronation Street Kit Green’s mystery caller ‘sealed’ as he deletes evidence

Viewers were given another handful of clues to help them catch on with Joel Deering’s real murderer this Monday as shady Kit deleted another crucial piece of evidence.

Kit Green got rid of another piece of evidence that had the potential to solve the mystery surrounding Joel Deering’s murder but there could be another twist ahead.

Coronation Street viewers have grown convinced that the detective constable portrayed by Jacob Roberts is responsible for Joel’s death after he was spotted deleting crucial evidence linking him and his red car to the duty solicitor’s murder. While many Weatherfield residents had a bone to pick with Joel, Kit appeared to seal his status as a suspect this Monday (November 4), as a flashback scene showed him deleting a listed incoming call from a withheld number, from his mobile phone.

Later on, another flashback scene aired on ITV saw him confronting Joel moments before he was found dead in the canal. The sinister solicitor gloated, reminding Kit he knew all about the evidence he had planted against his former client, Nathan Curtis.

Viewers will recall Kit planted evidence in Nathan’s van months ago when Lauren went missing to get him sent down. It seemed he was keen to get the criminal back off the streets, while Joel would later be revealed to be the person who attacked and almost killed Lauren.

Now, with Joel also keen at the time to have Nathan framed to cover his own back, it seems Joel used this against Kit. With the threat hanging over Kit, it would certainly give him a reason to want Joel out of the way.

He could have committed the deed to avoid being suspended, sack or imprisoned over the move, while one theory suggests that the call history he deleted may not have even been from Joel in the first place. Why would Kit delete and and what does he have to hide?

Might the call have come from Joel’s killer, and could it give away who did the crime? Another clue appeared to suggest Kit’s innocence was also aired this Monday.

As his heated exchange with Joel, which took place on September 27, appeared to end with the solicitor remaining relatively unharmed, with the exception of a nasty gash on his face. Perhaps something happened later on, but it seems Joel was alive when Kit left.

Moving with the theory that whoever did kill Joel called Kit that night, hence the now deleted call history, who could it have been? Some fans have been sharing their theories with some believing i was in fact Kit all along, if not his colleague DS Swain.

Another theory suggested Joel’s ex Dee-Dee Bailey was to blame. Meanwhile one viewer commented: “Hoping quietly it was Hope lol.”

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
