Coronation Street’s Daniel Brocklebank regularly keeps his social media followers updated with personal insights into his life. In his most recent post the actor has uploaded an adorable snap.

Sharing an image of himself surrounded by his three pet dachshunds to Instagram, the Billy Mayhew star captioned the image “My perfect evening.” Fans took to the comments to praise the photo and send Daniel well wishes.

Among the commenters was Loose Women presenter Ruth Langsford who replied “wonderful”. Other messages included “they look so cute snuggled up to you” and “best way to spend an evening.”

One fan added “you are so lucky” with a further comment reading “This is what my three dachshunds do to my husband. He loves this sometimes he can’t breathe.”

Playing the role of Billy Mayhew on Coronation Street, Daniel has been involved in some major storylines this year including the heartbreaking battle his on-screen partner Paul faced with motor neurone disease (MND). Peter Ash, who played Paul Foreman was flooded with praise and won award recognition for his incredible portrayal throughout the emotional storyline.

Peter triumphed at the National Television Awards and Inside Soap Awards since his final scenes were broadcast in September. Peter Ash reunited with his former co-stars in October, joining up with Harriet Bibby who plays Summer Spellman and Daniel Brocklebank who currently plays Billy Mayhew.

Daniel spoke to the ECHO at the Radio Times Soap Awards earlier this year about the emotional impact Paul’s then-impending departure would have on his character. He told the ECHO in July: “At the moment we’re dealing with the latter end of the motor neurone disease storyline. Inevitably, we’re going to be dealing with Paul’s death, which is going to be heartbreaking.”

The storyline was particularly emotional for Daniel as his grandad died after suffering from the condition. The 44-year-old is an ambassador for the MND association and said it has been a privilege to address the subject on screen.
