Though could the mistake lead to something more?

Home and Away spoilers follow for UK viewers.

Home and Away’s Tane Parata is set to get caught in a romance mix-up with Harper Matheson.

The two characters are expecting a baby following a one-night stand, and while they’re not involved romantically, they have both agreed to be in the baby’s life.

In new scenes set to air next Monday (November 4) and Friday (November 8), Tane wants to ensure that Harper is okay following her recent baby scare, which saw her experience bleeding, and decides to stay with her.

He tells Harper that he is prioritising her and the baby, and he and Dana prove good at caring for her. Once he leaves, the sisters discuss Tane, and Harper makes it clear that she isn’t worried about them being mistaken for a couple.

Later on in the week, once Harper is back on her feet, Dana is overprotective of her, and is worried that her sister may be reading too much into Tane’s support.

She speaks to Marilyn to organise a picnic hamper, and asks Xander to set up the picnic on the beach during his lunch break.

However, as she prepares to pay for the hamper, Dana realises she may have given Marilyn the wrong impression that it could be a romantic hamper, as she has given Tane and Harper ‘the special couples’ hamper’.

Sure enough, the two characters open the basket to find love-themed snacks, wondering if it is a mix-up or Dana cracking a joke. Harper panics, though Tane is amused by the situation.

They also find a baby name book in the hamper, Tane using the opportunity to relieve some of the tension by making up ridiculous names and jokingly claiming they’re beautiful.

Harper is touched by Tane’s sweetness – could she be catching feelings for him?

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5, with repeat screenings at 6pm on 5STAR and first-look screenings at 6.30pm on 5STAR. Selected classic episodes are available via Prime Video in the UK.
