Coronation Street confirms surprise new ally for Mason Radcliffe

How will Liam react?

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street’s Mason Radcliffe is about to find a surprising new ally.

Earlier this year, Mason was at the center of an emotional school bullying storyline where he tormented Liam Connor both in person and on social media.

This eventually led to Mason being arrested, charged and sentenced for threatening Liam with a knife. Mason was then sent to Young Offenders, as it wasn’t his first knife-related charge.

In the coming days, Liam will encounter Mason again, with his former tormentor telling him he’s now a changed person after taking positive steps to turn his life around.

And in scenes to air next week, Tim Metcalfe will be an unlikely source of help for Mason.

After Sally and Tim find spilled food in the kitchen, the couple are convinced they’ve got a mouse.

As Sally cleans out the cupboards, Tim bursts in and reveals that he suspects there are mice in the garden shed.

Later in the week, Sally and Tim survey a rucksack they’ve found and realise that someone has been living in their shed.

Mason watches from across the street as Tim heads to Street Cars with the rucksack.

But when Mason is caught red-handed trying to grab his bag, he’s forced to explain how he became homeless.

Later in the week, having failed to find Mason a bed for the night, Tim lets Mason into No. 4 and tells him he can sleep on the sofa – on the condition that Sally never finds out.

Charlie Wrenshall, who plays Liam, recently suggested that his character could eventually become friends with Mason following his return to the street.

He told Inside Soap magazine: “As we’re seeing on the show now, with Mason, people are starting to feel bad for him. So maybe they have a similarity in that. You never know, they could become friends.”

Discussing Liam’s future, Charlie added: “What I want to see Liam do is completely switch and go on a rampage, and just do whatever he wants – just like Gary.

“Maybe he could use this experience to spark something in him, to the point where no one wants to mess with him!”

These scenes will air on Monday, November 4, Wednesday, November 6 and Friday, November 8.
