Emmerdale fans were left confused after Billy Fletcher made a comment about his injuries during Wednesday’s trip to the village
Emmerdale fans were left scratching their heads after spotting what seemed to be a gaffe in tonight’s episode.
The drama unfolded as Mike Parr reprised his role as Ross Barton, facing off against Billy Fletcher in a bareknuckle bout. The clash took a turn for the worse when Ross was momentarily knocked out by Billy.
As Billy pressed for his winnings, Jade reluctantly paid up, following which Aaron whisked Billy away to A&E, concocting a story that he and Aaron had scuffled, accounting for his injuries.
Yet, viewers were thrown into confusion when Billy returned to Dawn and recounted the fabricated tale of his facial wounds, oddly remarking they were “worse than it looks”.
Fans didn’t miss a beat, taking to social media to question the line. One viewer tweeted: “Billy forget his lines or something? ? #Emmerdale,” while another commented: “Shouldn’t billy have said ‘IT’S NOT as bad as it looks’ instead of ‘it’s worse than it looks’ lol #emmerdale.” Another fan questioned: “#Emmerdale Did Billy just fluff his lines then? ? ‘It’s worse than it looks.'”
Others speculated, with one saying: “Maybe Billy was joking when he said ‘it’s worse than it looks’ #emmerdale,” and another pondering: “How’s Billy going to explain the cuts to dawn?” Another tweet read: “So how will Billy explain his injuries to Dawn.”
This twist is part of Mike’s much-anticipated comeback to Emmerdale, with the actor revealing Ross’s ‘true’ sentiments about Billy.
He said: “There’s always going to be a rivalry if there’s a potential love interest in the middle of it all. But Billy is quite a tall, athletic, handsome lad. You know, Ross has met his match. Obviously it’s a young man’s sport, so I think you’ll find that Ross is maybe not in the same position that he was in last time. He’s much older. He’s been through a lot more trauma. So it’s about developing an understanding, can he still do this anymore? He’s really met his match because Billy’s much younger and more athletic than Ross is.”
While Billy seemed unharmed, some fans speculate that this could lead to his exit from the show. Ross appeared to be injured, but could something unexpected happen, leading to a shocking death for Billy? Are his injuries more severe than initially thought?
One fan speculated: “Billy, it may be the end of you #Emmerdale,” while another added: “Billy will end up battered and bruised and Dawn will hit the roof, right? #Emmerdale.” A third fan wrote: “Billy just won’t listen and will sadly learn the hard way.”
