They come face-to-face again.
Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street teen Liam Connor sees a nicer side to his former tormentor Mason Radcliffe next week.
The schoolboy is shocked as Mason finally expresses remorse for making his life a misery.
Earlier this year, the two characters took centre-stage in an emotional storyline focusing on school bullying and how the ordeal affected Liam’s mental health.
Mason and his cronies bullied Liam in person and continued the cruel abuse on social media.
Although the upsetting situation played out over several months, Mason eventually got his comeuppance when he was arrested, charged and sentenced for threatening Liam with a knife. As this wasn’t his first knife-related crime, he was sent to Young Offenders.
Next week, Liam absentmindedly steps out in front of Chesney Brown’s car on the street.
Mason witnesses the incident and jumps in to pull him to safety.
As the former enemies finally get a chance to talk again, Mason tells Liam that he’s genuinely sorry for the bullying. He adds that he’s now a changed person after taking positive steps to turn his life around. But will Liam believe him?
Dev Alahan witnesses the intense conversation and decides that it’s best to warn Liam’s step-dad Gary Windass about what happened.
Determined to keep Mason away from Liam, a furious Gary takes matters into his own hands – but will Liam appreciate his interference?
Charlie Wrenshall, who plays Liam, recently suggested that his character could ultimately become friends with Mason in a surprise twist.
He told Inside Soap magazine: “As we’re seeing on the show now, with Mason, people are starting to feel bad for him. So maybe they have a similarity in that. You never know, they could become friends.”
Discussing Liam’s future, Charlie laughed: “What I want to see Liam do is completely switch and go on a rampage, and just do whatever he wants – just like Gary.
“Maybe he could use this experience to spark something in him, to the point where no-one wants to mess with him!”
Coronation Street airs these scenes on Friday, November 1.
