A no-good, very bad day.
Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Chesney Winter-Brown has faced two major setbacks in Coronation Street.
In Wednesday’s episode (October 23), Chesney found himself stretched too thin with work and childcare responsibilities while his wife Gemma was away from Weatherfield.
Gemma recently took her long-lost brother Kit Green up on an offer to spend time at a friend’s cabin in the Lake District because he felt she wasn’t coping with their sibling Paul’s tragic death.
Chesney ended up with too many commitments in the latest instalment, starting with a disastrous attempt to get Joseph to the airport for his ski trip.
After realising he’d missed messages about Joseph’s flight being brought forward, he had to break the news to the boy that they’d missed the flight.
However, Rita Tanner came to the rescue when she offered to pay for a later flight so Joseph could meet up with the rest of the gang.
“All you have to do is get into your house, onto your computer, and send me the bill,” Rita assured Chesney and Joseph.
Chesney was then faced with another crisis, as he’d left Kirk Sutherland to run the Prima Doner while he dashed off to the airport.
A health inspector turned up to look around before Chesney returned. He arrived back at the kebab shop just as the inspector closed Prima Doner immediately after finding a cockroach.
Chesney was shellshocked, as he was told the Prima Doner would need to be closed for at least a month before another inspection could take place.
“I assure you, there’s no shortcuts when it comes to food hygiene,” the inspector told him.
With Dev blaming Chesney for leaving Kirk in charge, he was left feeling hopeless and overwhelmed. Can Chesney get the kebab shop back open for business?
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
