Coronation Street confirms who stole Damon’s money – but it wasn’t Harvey or Logan

After Coronation Street scenes teased Logan Radcliffe could have stolen Damon Hay’s missing cash after Sarah Platt shared hopes it was Harvey Gaskell, the truth seemed to be confirmed on Monday

Coronation Street’s latest episode appeared to confirm who really stole Damon Hay’s cash, leaving Sarah Platt in danger.

In a shock it was someone close to home who appeared to be the thief, after Sarah’s flat was broken into. In a recent episode Damon reached out to his ex Sarah, telling her he had some hidden cash he wanted her to have.

He’d found out Sarah’s daughter Bethany Platt was seriously ill after a botched cosmetic procedure, and offered her a lot of money for the medical bills. But Sarah shocked him when she revealed she had not taken the money, despite it no longer being in the lock-up.

Since then characters under suspicion have included Jesse Chadwick, Adam Barlow and Damon’s brother Harvey Gaskell, while new villain Logan Radcliffe appeared to be involved too after he stole Sarah’s keys. On Monday night he broke into her flat, endangering Bethany.

As he tore the place apart he called someone to notify them they were there, and that there was no cash. Sarah was alerted by Damon that Harvey had found out about the cash and was now looking for it.

With Damon then attacked in his cell and told that someone was in the flat, Sarah ran home to save her daughter. Damon had told Sarah that he’d assumed a lad involved in the heist might know where the money was so he asked him.

It appears this guy was Logan, and soon he told Harvey about the cash. It seems Harvey believed Sarah had stolen it, hence the break-in, but when the episode came to an end we finally seemed to find out the culprit.

It wasn’t Jesse or Harvey or even Logan who took the money at all, and it wasn’t Sarah or Bethany. Sarah fled to her mum Gail Platt’s house, and told her brother David Platt about the break-in.

She warned him that Harvey knew the truth and was after her, leaving him rattled. As she shared her fears over what he’d do next, she told David about the attack on Damon.

She once again questioned if Gail’s partner Jesse was to blame, but after Sarah left the truth became clear. David caught his daughter Lily rummaging through the cupboard under the stairs.

He panicked and asked her what she was doing, trying to get her to go away. It’s then that we saw him searching for something, before opening a bag that was full of cash.

He then buried it under a duvet and other stuff. It seems this is Damon’s missing money, so does this confirm David stole it?

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
