Coronation Street Gail Platt’s death teased in sad clip as Jesse vows to save her

Coronation Street has released a new episode preview as Gail Platt appears to suffer a heart attack, and a teaser for it suggests she could be killed off ahead of her exit from the ITV soap

Coronation Street legend Gail Platt could be killed off in tragic scenes next week, as a spoiler hints she will die from a possible heart attack.

One resident is left desperate to save her, making a frantic call for an ambulance as Helen Worth’s character falls ill and fears for her life. Ahead of Gail’s exit from the show after 50 years, a sudden health scare appears to leave her life on the line.

A new clip of the scene set to air on Wednesday night shows her struggling to breathe and in pain. As love interest Jesse Chadwick realises she might be having a heart attack he dives into action, but it’s clear both of them are fearing the worst.

Gail is seen barely able to breathe, sobbing as she fears she will die. A synopsis for the clip in question will do nothing to calm any worries that Gail might die in a shocking twist, with it hinting at a sad fate.

It reads: “When Gail suddenly becomes ill, following the stress of family arguments earlier in the day, Jesse spots the signs of a heart attack and calls for an ambulance. Is Gail dying?” The spoiler appears to hint Gail’s life is very much on the line and that she could lose her life.

While it had been reported Gail would not be killed off and there could be much more drama ahead, could it have all been a red herring? Are we about to lose a soap icon in such a tragic way?

In the clip from the episode airing on Wednesday 23 October, Gail is seen slowly staggering down the stairs and she seems scared and breathless. She begins crying about her row with her children David and Sarah Platt.

But as she sits down, she asks Jesse if he is okay and it’s clear something is wrong. Jesse is alarmed and races over, immediately checking her over.

He immediately spots the signs of a heart attack and fears his partner is in grave peril. Picking up his phone he calls for an ambulance and alerts the emergency services that he thinks Gail is suffering a heart attack.

Gail will be rushed to hospital once the paramedics arrive, as her children spot her being taken away in the ambulance. Given we know that Gail will leave the ITV soap very soon, does this mean Gail will sadly pass away?

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
