Coronation Street’s Dee-Dee Bailey appeared to be experiencing a panic attack on Friday after days of worrying behaviour, and soon a flashback let slip a dark Joel Deering twist
Coronation Street’s Dee-Dee Bailey was exposed on Friday night as viewers learned what she had been hiding.
Amid fans speculating she could be hiding something or might even secretly be pregnant, now it seems she might know what really happened to Joel Deering. Joel’s body was found earlier this week, with Dee-Dee told her ex had been murdered.
With a crowbar thought to be the murder weapon with two fatal wounds to the head the likely cause of death, a number of characters have fallen under suspicion. Dee-Dee was questioned in the latest episode, while fans have been unsure about her being the killer given she was the only person not to believe the original theory of Joel taking his own life.
She seemed so convinced he was alive and on the run, but was it all a cover up? Since Joel vanished she’s been acting strangely, quite vacant and complaining of headaches, while she also has been seen avoiding alcohol.
While some fans speculated she might be pregnant despite her not sleeping with Joel, it’s now been revealed she’s hiding something dark about the night Joel died. In the latest episode she was faced with more conversations about Joel’s death, and it all got too much for her.

Dee-Dee rushed out in a state claiming not to feel well. As the camera panned back to her flat she was hyperventilating and sobbing, clearly struggling with something.
As her dad arrived she repeated she had a headache and took some painkillers before sitting down. She admitted she knew her dad Ed Bailey and uncle Ronnie Bailey were innocent of the crime after spotting them arrive home, after their own actions on the night were explained.
The brothers went after Joel and broke into his flat only to find him not there. It’s then claimed they returned home, but someone else then went and found him it seems.
Dee-Dee was listening to Ed and crying, only for a flashback to air onscreen. Viewers saw Dee-Dee wielding a crowbar and heading towards a car, before raising it in the air.

As Dee-Dee stared at someone menacingly seemingly ready to attack, the camera panned to a shocked Joel sitting in his car. The flashback ended there, but later in the episode we saw more.
As Dee-Dee continued to struggle with recent events it was clear she was hiding something and that she had seen Joel on the night he died. As a second flashback played, we saw her screaming and crying as she washed her bloodied hands and a bloodied crowbar in her kitchen sink.
Dee-Dee sobbed as she fell to the floor, but what had she done and whose blood was on the possible weapon? Did she attack Joel and possibly kill him?
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
