Emmerdale Dingles ‘to leave Wishing Well cottage’ after 57 years – but new owner isn’t Tina

The Dingles clan in Emmerdale could be forced to move out of their iconic Wishing Well cottage soon – and fans have ‘worked out’ who its new owner is

Emmerdale fans have ‘exposed’ the new owner of the Wishing Well cottage – and it’s not Tina Dingle.

The iconic cottage has been the heart of the family since 1967, and over the years it’s been the home for countless members of the Dingle clan. Currently, Sam Dingle (James Hooton) is the head of the home, who lives there with wife Lydia (Karen Blick), his cousin Mandy (Lisa Riley) and her son Vinny (Bradley Johnson).

However, a huge soap twist could be about to change things completely. Over in the Dales recently, Zak Dingle (Steve Halliwell) sadly died off-screen. In real life, Steve passed away in December last year, aged 77. And this week, Zak’s funeral took place – and as expected it delivered on the drama.

During the funeral the Dingles were taken aback when a woman unexpectedly showed up – and it was clear she was a family member. The truth soon unfolded as Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) identified the woman as Tina Dingle (Samantha Power).

Tina first appeared on Emmerdale in 1994 but left two years later, in 1996. The character was originally portrayed by Jacqueline Pirie, but now actress Samantha Power has taken over the role.

There were soon fireworks for the Dingles at Zak’s funeral, as Tina started insulting the family, overshadowing Zak’s send-off. She also shamelessly tried to claim she had dibs on the Wishing Well cottage after she was caught with pictures of the house on her phone.

Lydia (Karen Blick) quickly set her straight though, as she revealed that she had a copy of Zak’s last wishes which stated otherwise. It was then revealed that Tina was actually on tag. A police officer then showed up to cart her off for breaching her probation. As she left, a furious Tina warned the Dingles that their dispute wasn’t over.

But now, viewers reckon that the Dingles will be forced to move out of the Wishing Well cottage – and its new owner isn’t Tina. Sharing their thoughts online, fans reckon the new owner could be Ruby Milligan (Beth Cordingly), as she’s due a huge heap of cash from her estranged mum – who died recently.

“Will Ruby’s inheritance from her mother give her the opportunity to buy the Dingle’s cottage and land when they have no money to pay the taxman?????”one person mused. Someone else agreed and penned: “Yup I can see Caleb and Ruby trying to get it .” A third wrote: “Yes maybe Ruby will buy it.”

Tina made her shock return to the soap this week, and teasing what viewers can expect, new actress Samantha said: “Well, she has no filters, and she will literally do anything to make sure she gets her way, including her claim to the house. She is not one to be trusted! I loved it!” She added: “She is feisty, bolshy, selfish, and she always seems to have an agenda and won’t stop at anything to get what she wants!”

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
