Coronation Street Mason’s dark secret ‘exposed’ – but it’s not linked to Joel’s murder

Coronation Street viewers saw a confession from Mason Radcliffe on Monday night that alluded to a dark twist for the troubled teen, but it might not be linked to Joel Deering

Amid Mason Radcliffe on Coronation Street becoming a suspect in Joel Deering’s murder, there could be another twist on the way for the teen.

The character cut ties with Yasmeen Nazir on Monday night after the sad exit of Stu Carpenter. Mason came between the couple as Stu tried to support criminal Mason, but Yasmeen was keen to avoid this.

Mason had been involved in the bullying of Liam Connor months earlier, and as he returned it was revealed his older brothers were trying to get him involved in crime. Stu was keen to keep Mason on the right path but a row with Yasmeen resulted in his decision to leave.

Just days ago Mason was told he could not stay with the couple, and it’s since been revealed he’s been found somewhere to live. But Mason was also working in Yasmeen’s restaurant, with this coming to an end on Monday night.

Mason announced he was leaving his job for good after that last shift. He claimed he had a new job, and Yasmeen was suspicious about this given it happened very quickly.

As the teen claimed he’d been offered a job at a garden centre, it was clear he wasn’t being truthful. As Yasmeen tried to get information about this job from him, she made it clear she didn’t believe what he was saying.

But is Mason hiding something, and has he really got a new job? Has he been dragged back into his brothers’ criminal world, and has he agreed to do dodgy work for them?

This would make sense given he’s moved away from the street and suddenly didn’t need the job at the restaurant anymore. But will Yasmeen act on her concern and help him?

In upcoming scenes Mason will find himself a suspect in Joel Deering’s murder. When it emerges that Joel was killed with a crowbar, at least this is what detectives believe, Mason finds himself under the spotlight.

He’s seen disposing of the very same tool. But surely it’s too soon for this to be a link? Perhaps he is disposing the crowbar for another reason, maybe linked to his ‘new job’.

If this is the case, might it be revealed that Mason is hiding something dark that isn’t to do with Joel at all? If he does find himself questioned over Joel’s murder, could he end up being sent to prison for the crime?

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
