As fans of EastEnders have been speculating over a funeral for a Carter family member, one star of the BBC soap has appeared to confirm the tragic death and left fans ‘heartbroken’
A cherished EastEnders star seems to have confirmed her character’s demise, leaving fans utterly devastated.
Recent photos obtained by The Sun reveal that the BBC One soap is currently filming a dramatic Christmas funeral, complete with a white coffin being carried into a church amidst a crowd of mourners.
Notably, several members of the Carter family are in attendance, including Johnny and Elaine, as well as returning characters Lee and Nancy. However, Linda Carter, played by Kellie Bright, is conspicuous by her absence, fuelling speculation that she may be the one in the coffin.
In a cryptic post on her social media, Kellie Bright added fuel to the fire, sharing a photo of herself in a pottery studio holding a bowl inscribed with the words ‘The End’. This has sparked a frenzy among fans, who are now convinced that Linda’s time on the soap is coming to an end.
One fan took to X (formerly Twitter) to express their concern, saying: “Kellie posting this photo today with “The End” in her pottery piece, along with the funeral pics, is worrying me.”, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Another added: “I will have a breakdown and hold the BBC personally responsible if that’s Linda’s funeral.” Meanwhile, a third chimed in: “I can’t. I physically can’t… Surely they wouldn’t kill her off… I will be absolutely heartbroken if it’s ‘true’.”
But it wasn’t all doom and gloom on the ‘ EastEnders ‘ lot, as there was some razzle-dazzle amidst the mournful whispers with Elaine Peacock and George Knights wedding scene being shot.
Fans got a glimpse of Harriet Thorpe shining bright like a diamond in a golden gown, while Colin Salmon looked dapper in a sandy shade of sophistication for his suit. And turning up for the lavish do was none other than Jamie Borthwick, better recognised as Albert Squares own Jay Brown.
EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
