Looks like we’re definitely saying goodbye to a fan fave on Home and Away next year.

For months rumours have been rife about certain fan faves leaving the show: from Xander and Rose, to Tane, to Harper and her baby, to Alf’s estranged second cousin’s long lost dog or something. The point is, speculation is mounting in fan Facebook groups and it looks like a few little theories have now been confirmed.
New romance in Summer Bay for 2025
In amongst the death and drama, the other thing that hooks fans into shows like Home and Away is the chaotic love lives of the Bay dwellers. For such a small town, there’s just so much love and horniness. Good for them.
Fans started speculating recently after Abigail Fowler’s arrival into the Bay that she and Mali Hudson might end up together, and it looks all but confirmed after a fan leaked some footage of what appears to be the two kissing by the beach.
The footage left some fans confused after they thought Mali and Kirby would actually end up dating, with someone commenting, “What about Kirby? She deserves a great man…..they forgot about her?”
It happens to the best of us, sis.
Fan fave to depart Home and Away
With one romance heating it up, it doesn’t mean everyone will be happy. It means it’s time to kill someone off.
No, I’m joking, but also, it appears like we will officially be saying goodbye to Summer Bay cop and ex-girlfriend of Mali, Rose Delaney.
Rose’s disappearance from the Bay has been rumoured for some time with actress Kirsty Marillier taking on numerous new projects in 2025, starring in Picnic at Hanging Rock alongside Olivia DeJonge at the Sydney Opera House from February 17 to April 5, 2025. But after she was spotted still filming recently, fans were holding onto hope that Rose would be sticking around.
However it’s been confirmed in a Facebook fan page now that Kirsty filmed her last scenes as Rose on October 9, with her driving off into the sunset as friends like Kirby and Bree wave her off.
With Rose’s brother, Xander, looking like he departs earlier, fans think maybe Rose leaves the Bay to go be with him. “I reckon Xander leaves to do his new business stuff and Rose can’t live without him so follows him a little later?” one person said.
“May as well call it ‘Away’ as everyone is leaving, no one is home,” another person quipped.
