Suki is touched by unexpected gesture from Nish in EastEnders – but it doesn’t last

Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) is to unleash the next stage of his plot against his family in EastEnders, when he welcomes grandson Tye to Walford.

In August, fans were overjoyed to see Nish’s ex-wife Suki (Balvinder Sopal) finally agree to girlfriend Eve Unwin’s (Heather Peace) proposal.

The event didn’t exactly go to plan, as Suki was rattled by Nish’s presence and couldn’t provide an answer. He’d also meddled by bringing her first female crush Ayesha (Laila Rouass) back to the Square.

Later, Ayesha provided some much needed food for thought and Suki headed back to find Eve and pop the question herself.

In upcoming scenes, the two women are flaunting their engagement plans as Nish reels. He quickly thinks up a plan and approaches Vinny (Shiv Jalota) with a view to contacting Habiba Ahmed (Rukku Nahar) to ask if Tye can visit from Leeds.

Viewers will remember that the youngster is the son of Jags (Amar Adatia), who died in prison shortly after he was born. Habiba had moved up North after he was sent down for four years.

As the week goes on, the celebrations get underway, with Suki touched when she hears from Vinny that Nish has arranged for Tye to arrive. The gesture is enough for her to reluctantly allow her evil ex to attend the party.

The dastardly businessman is warmed to have the whole clan together, but soon overhears Eve and Suki talking about his terminal illness. As a result, he picks up his phone and makes a call…

But who does he contact?

The next day, Eve makes last-minute plans for them both to visit Yorkshire, though Nish manipulates the decision and Suki decides its probably best to stay at home to spend time with Tye.

Eve is angry with her decision, but after speaking with Stacey (Lacey Turner) she softens and calls to apologise. However, it’s clear that Nish doesn’t appreciate her intrusion on their family time.

Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) is shocked to see Suki playing happy families with Nish in the Bridge Street Cafe, and later questions her on whether he can be trusted.

What is Nish’s game?
