Former EastEnders star Lorraine Stanley looked worlds away from her role as Karen Taylor as she got glammed up for an event in London and showed off her impressive weight loss
EastEnders star Lorraine Stanley looked incredible as showed off her impressive weight loss at an event in London on Thursday (3 October) evening. The soap star looked worlds aways from her former role as Karen Taylor as she got glammed up for the PINKLondon 2024 Gala Dinner at The Underglobe in the capital.
Lorraine, 48, sported a white mini dress with a tutu-style skirt. The stunning dress featured bold floral detailing around the neck and waistline, and Lorraine matched it with white platform heels. The soap star wore her hair in tight curls and sported glam make-up as she beamed for the cameras.
Lorraine is famed for playing Karen in Taylor in EastEnders but left the role for good at the end of 2023, with Karen sailing off into the sunset with her partner Mitch Baker. She has made guest appearances in the soap over recent months, following the murder of Karen’s son Keanu (Danny Walters) on Christmas Day.
However, Lorraine confirmed her exit from EastEnders for good in June. Taking to her Instagram after her scenes on June 17 aired, she penned alongside a video of her time in Albert Square: “Well that’s a wrap!! I’ve had the best 7 years!! Thankyou @bbceastenders for having me. @daranlittle for creating the Taylor’s, Sean O’Connor for giving me the opportunity with the @bbc @crampsielinge for casting me,I really can’t thank you enough.
“The cast, crew, Directors, writers, makeup, wardrobe all made my time on the show so much fun and I had the best giggles ,I’ve had a ball playing Karen Taylor & I’m very proud of what the Taylor/Bakers brought to the show! Thankyou to the fans who have all been wonderfully bonkers.”
Earlier this year, Lorraine revealed her next acting project after her soap stint came to an end. She told fans that she is heading to her hometown to star as Queen Rat in this year’s Dick Whittington pantomime in Portsmouth.
For the project, Lorraine will be performing at the Kings Theatre over the Christmas period later this year, with the pantomime stint allowing her to reunite with West End actor Jack Edwards. Announcing the news earlier this month, she wrote: “I can’t wait for this!!!! Panto in my home town with me old mate Jack Edwards is going to be epic!!! Ratty is coming to play Kings Theatre get your tickets early and I’ll see you after the show Xxx.”
But as well as getting set to take to the panto stage, Lorraine has been busy filming a new film called Departures where she will play a character named Janet, the mother of the main character Benji, who returns to Amsterdam after having a steamy affair with a married man.
