The actress, who plays Alya Nazir in the ITV soap, welcomed her first child into the world earlier this year
Coronation Street star Sair Khan has been flooded with comments after she spoke about juggling being a new mum, returning to work and finding time for herself.
The actress, who is famed for playing Alya Nazir in the ITV soap, welcomed her first child into the world earlier this year with her partner Nathan Chilton.
Sair kept much of her pregnancy out of the spotlight and as her exit scenes aired on-screen, the new mum confirmed her son’s arrival in May. She said at the time: “He’s here! …Our little boy is just marvellous. Very serious and curious about the world. He’s super strong and so resilient for joining me on the absolute rollercoaster that was our 22 hours of labour.”
Sair has since shared some updates here and there and recently revealed she’s headed back to work on the cobbles. On-screen, Sair’s character Alya Nazir left Weatherfield to pursue a job opportunity in Dublin, but before she left she and her boss Adam Barlow. played by Sam Robertson, getting close.
She has now confirmed it won’t be too much longer before she is seen back on screens as she shared some pictures of her having costume fittings and sitting in the hair and makeup room at Corrie’s Trafford-based set.
In her latest social media update, she also offered some thoughts on how motherhood is ‘mothering’ alongside pictures of herself and Nathan with their little one, whose name they haven’t shared publically.
The 36-year-old shared: “I wanted to do a little photo dump but it turns out my camera roll is 99% baby pics. It’s like I disappeared into this new role overnight and now finding time for myself (or even a photo) is rare. The lead-up to having our little one was a whirlwind of pregnancy and house renovations and since then motherhood has been (as they say) *mothering*.
“The last few weeks have been all about juggling work and family life with @njchilton who’s been incredible. I’m so proud of him for taking on the APEX walking challenge after everything he’s been through. His strength and determination post-surgery are so inspiring.
Life is full, chaotic, and joyful with our little bubba. He’s loving baby sensory classes—my favourite was when he dressed up as a fairy and played in a ‘swamp’.”
She added: “Sharing a few cute moments: Mummy and baby date to Space NK, tummy time, dancing in the kitchen (mirror still needs cleaning), an exciting costume fitting as I head back to the Cobbles, and our first date night… which the baby ended up gatecrashing!”
And it didn’t take her friends and followers long to respond with messages of love and support. @angelahughes48 said: “Oh my goodness, look at the babies’ hair fabulous. Pictures are brilliant. Looking forward to seeing you back on the street.” @hannahprentice10 commented: “Aww amazing photos. So excited to see Alya back on screen.”
