Emmerdale viewers are convinced they have worked out Tom King’s next move after a bombshell was dropped on Wednesday night’s episode
Emmerdale viewers were left on the edge of their seats on Wednesday night as the plot thickened in the Belle Dingle and Tom King storyline.
Only recently, Belle was forced to defend herself with an axe against evil Tom after enduring months of his threats and abuse. Following the incident, a hospitalised Tom claimed to have no memory of the attack or its perpetrator to the police.
However, in a shocking twist, Tom attempted to manipulate Belle into dropping her allegations of abuse against him, threatening to reveal her as his attacker if she didn’t comply. Despite the truth of her claims, Belle seemed to be considering Tom’s proposal, particularly when he demanded a kiss on the cheek, only to betray her trust by kissing her on the lips.
Later, at the hospital, Tom continued his deception by telling the police that two unknown men had attacked him. But in a dramatic turn of events, Belle decided to take matters into her own hands.
At the end of Tuesday’s episode, she went to the police station, confessed to attacking her husband in self-defence, and handed over the weapon. “I’ve attacked my husband in self-defence, he wanted to kill me, I’m a victim of domestic abuse” she declared, reports Leeds Live.

On Wednesday night, viewers saw the police investigating Belle’s claims, leading to Tom being discharged from the hospital and taken in for questioning.
In a shocking twist, Tom was caught lying during questioning, insisting Belle was the abuser and that he had installed secret cameras to keep tabs on her due to her mental health issues. The police announced their intention to confiscate all electronic devices, including the cameras, but Tom calmly responded that any footage would have been erased after 24 hours.
Yet, later in the episode, Tom inadvertently confessed to his solicitor about the existence of multiple cameras and that evidence remained on a tablet with a distinctive zombie case, which he believed the police wouldn’t find.
As his solicitor highlighted the grave consequences, Tom exclaimed: “Oh my God, they’re going to think I’m some sort of creep”, and acknowledged that discovery of the tablet meant “game over”. The scene then shifted to Jimmy King’s house, where Tom had been staying, and showed Jimmy’s son Carl playing with the very tablet in question.
Frustrated fans took to Twitter, now X, speculating that Carl might find the incriminating footage and inform his parents, leading either Jimmy or Nicola to erase it in an attempt to shield Tom, adding another layer of infuriating drama to the storyline.
One person said: “Jimmy & Nichola will find the footage and delete it #Emmerdale”, a different account put: “Swear to god if Jimmy finds the footage and deletes it to protect his precious Tom I’m going to lose it #emmerdale”, another wrote: “Nicola or jimmy is going to find the footage and delete for sure #emmerdale” while a different account added: “Nicola or jimmy is going to find the footage and delete for sure #emmerdale.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
