Emmerdale fans will be reminded of another Dingle family member on the ITV soap on Tuesday night amid hints of a return for one family member, but who is Mystic Dingle?
Emmerdale fans tuning into Tuesday night’s episode of the ITV soap might be left puzzled over the mention of a Dingle relative.
Amid Belle Dingle’s horror at the hands of abusive husband Tom King, her worried family attempt to help her flee. It seems a distant Dingle relative also wants to help, offering to let Belle stay with him until the drama dies down.
The Dingle in question is Mystic Dingle, a relative of the family who lives in Ireland. He has been on the show in the past, in scenes with others including Sam and Zak Dingle.
Mystic agrees to help Sam and offers Belle somewhere to hide out, but Belle is unsure about fleeing to Ireland. Sam tells her: “I called our Mystic… he’s happy to do the usual.” Belle responds: “So you want me to run off to Ireland to Mystic Dingle’s?”
Sam tells her: “We don’t want you to,” as Lydia adds: “You have to. As soon as Tom gives that statement to the police they’re gonna be round here.” Sam adds: “It’s the only way we can protect you.”
But who exactly is Mystic, and could he head back to the show? Mystic is the son of Solomon Dingle, the cousin of Zak. Mystic is related to the family through this link, and he appeared on the show once back in 2004.

Mystic was a fortune teller, and he correctly predicted the fortunes of many Dingles. He was played by actor Simon Cassidy, but hasn’t been seen since.
But given his offer to help Belle, might he make his big return amid hints about a surprise arrival coming up? Zak will soon be killed off offscreen, following the death of actor Steve Halliwell last year.
While details are still yet to be confirmed, the show will celebrate Steve and his soap alter ego Zak with a send-off. Speaking about what’s to come, producer Sophie Roper told The Mirror and other press: “The Dingles have been at the heart of our show for 30 years now, and will continue to be so.
“We lost Steve recently, so we’re going to be marking Zak’s passing in the coming months with a Dingle funeral. It will be very difficult for a lot of people who work on the show and obviously a lot of our viewers who have grown and love Zak for many, many years – but it will be a hugely fitting tribute for a great character.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
