Next week, Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) receives some very unexpected and shocking news about Pastor Clayton (Howard Saddler), the man who assaulted her in EastEnders.
Earlier this year, Clayton trapped Yolande in a storeroom in the community centre and sexually assaulted her. In the devastating aftermath, she didn’t tell Patrick (Rudolph Walker) due to worrying about the impact it would have on their relationship.
After weeks of turmoil, Yolande eventually found the courage to report his crimes to the police, but was left devastated when they claimed to have insufficient evidence to charge him.
However, a second woman called Delia later come forward to meet with Yolande, revealing that Clayton had attacked her during his time at a previous parish.
After they both gave fresh statements to the police, Clayton was then charged with two counts of sexual assault.
Coming up, Patrick tries to support Yolande with attending the Harvest Festival celebrations at the community centre. However, they are interrupted by the arrival of DS Amartey, who explains another woman has come forward in the case against Pastor Clayton.
Deciding to attend the Harvey Festival, things are going well for Yolande until Stella arrives and asks her to retract her statement against her husband. At home, Yolande is then interrupted by Pastor Clayton who barges in, ready for a conversation.
Clayton asks Yolande to change her statement, but he reels when he realises Yolande isn’t going to do such a thing.
Patrick, Howie (Delroy Atkinson) and Kim (Tameka Empson) return home and discover what has happened, and it’s clear Yolande has found strength by standing up to her attacker.
At the end of the evening though, the police return to see Patrick and Yolande and reveal that Pastor Clayton has ended his life.
Yolande is left reeling in the aftermath of this news – can she find the strength to move forward following this twist?
