Coronation Street viewers could see dark scenes once more between Kit Green and his mother Bernie Winter, with actor Jacob Roberts hinting his character was still out to get her
Coronation Street star Jacob Roberts has revealed there could be more drama ahead for Kit Green and Bernie Winter.
Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Jacob hinted that his character’s feud with his mother isn’t over despite them coming together recently. In fact he “could have something up his sleeve” according to Bernie actress Jane Hazlegrove.
Jacob teased that the police detective would likely “resent” his mother over their past “forever”. he also teased more tension ahead, while Jane told us there could be drama on the way.
Viewers know that Kit is the formerly secret son of Bernie, whose identity was only revealed this year. Kit had been adopted as a baby, with Bernie not telling her other children Paul and Gemma about their secret brother.
It emerged that when Kit got older he and his mother made contact and planned to meet. But Bernie was a no-show, leaving Kit feeling abandoned yet again.
To find out Bernie had given him away while still caring for his older siblings, Kit fumed and wasn’t sure if he could forgive his mother. But with Paul being sick, recently passing away from motor neurone disease, Kit and Bernie put their troubles aside for the sake of the family.

Now, actor Jacob has teased things might not be over where the feud is concerned especially now that Paul has died. He hinted Paul’s death and the lack of time they had together could spur him on to lash out at Bernie once more.
He told us: “He’d only just met Paul so he feels like a bit of a fraud with it all. He doesn’t feel like he’s his brother cos he didn’t spend that much time with him. He could have had more time with him if Bernie had told him he had a brother. It’s mixed emotions.
“I think he is still sussing the family out. He did have affection with Paul because he was dying. He felt that he could have had many years with someone, his brother, and he never got to meet the real him.
“I think he’ll hold that resentment with Bernie for the rest of his life, with Paul’s death and him being abandoned. I’m loving the fact there is tension there. It is nice to play that. I don’t want it to be happy families, I don’t think it should be.”
Jane told us: “I do imagine he’s got a few things up his sleeve for her. I would like it to be fixed as I’m a lover not a fighter, but honestly I don’t know what he will end up doing.”
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
