Coronation Street’s Isabella Flanagan has opened up about her home life with her soap star siblings, as the pair go head-to-head at this year’s Inside Soap Awards
Coronation Street actress Isabella Flanagan, best known for her role as Hope Dobbs, has shared insights into her home life with her famous soap star siblings.
The talented young actress plays the daughter of Fiz Dobbs and serial killer John Stape in the popular ITV soap. However, Isabelle isn’t the only one in her family with acting chops.
Her twin William is best known for his role as Joseph Brown in the same Salford-based serial drama, while their elder sister, Amelia, is famous for her portrayal of April Windsor in Emmerdale since 2014.
The talented trio often receive praise for their performances and Amelia and Isabella competed against each other in the 2022 Inside Soap Awards. Both sisters were nominated for the Best Young Performer award, alongside Amelia’s Emmerdale co-star Gabrielle Dowling (Cathy Hope) and Isabella’s Corrie co-star Jude Riordan (Sam Blakeman), and it was Isabelle who ended up winning the gong.
When asked about competing against her sister, Isabella expressed excitement at the time, stating it was her first-ever award nomination. “I always felt left out as my sister has won so many awards,” she confessed to Inside Soap. “So it’s nice to finally be nominated.”.
“But we always support each other and run lines together. We have a really great bond,” she added. However, she did admit that during awards season, discussions between the siblings can become quite “heated”.
“There are so many debates at home whenever there are awards ceremonies,” she informed the magazine. “Me and my brother are team Corrie and my sister is obviously team Emmerdale, so it does get a bit heated sometimes!”.
In conversation with Inside Soap, Amelia confessed that despite being “Team Emmerdale” herself and her siblings rooting for “Team Corrie”, their rivalry is all in good fun. “It’s never competitive”, she revealed, noting the sweet times they’ve helped each other rehearse.
“I’ve run lines with Bella where she’s played Hope and I’ve pretended to be a character from Coronation Street, and she’s done the same with me, so it’s fun!”.
April marked her Corrie debut this past May, as she joined her siblings during a family visit to the well-known set. Jude Riordan, a staple on the show, uploaded a picture to Instagram showing the Flanagan soap stars chilling outside the famed Rovers Return pub.
Great day at the Corrie Cast and Crew fun day,” Jude posted, adding, Good catching up with Team Flanagan. The post quickly attracted a flood of comments, overflowing with praise for the talented young actors.
