Coronation Street star hints at Kit Green being caught out

“I’m picking up the scripts like is this my last one?”

Coronation Street star Jacob Roberts has hinted at who will catch out his character Kit Green.

As viewers of the ITV soap will know, the corrupt police officer has shown his true colours after ruthlessly targeting Craig and Beth Tinker, blackmailing Beth to leave the cobbles after she uncovered his involvement in selling dodgy t-shirts.

He gives Beth the ultimatum to either leave town or he will ruin Craig’s career with the police after tricking him into admitting to previously covering up a crime.

Fans have been sure that it will be Craig who brings Kit down, but actor Jacob has suggested another character might be behind his undoing.

Speaking to The Mirror, the star shared Daniel Osbourne could be the character to expose Kit after he previously admitted he didn’t trust him and almost came close to discovering the reason behind Beth’s swift exit.

“I don’t know how Craig would find out [about Beth], but I think there might be something brewing with Daniel Osbourne,” he said.

“He’s suspicious of him and that would be nice to play. He’s quite confident that Craig will never find out and he’s got so much on him that he could get him sacked.”

He continued: “Daniel is suss of him and Daisy [Midgeley] too. I’m picking up the scripts like is this my last one? If he can get away with it, that’s always good.”

Jacob opened up on possible drama ahead with Daisy as well as DS Swain, admitting that we might see “a softer side to Kit”.

“I’ve got a lot of stuff with Swain, we start to see tension between them. It’s who’s better, that sort of stuff. It’s a great relationship. I would love to play a villain, it would be nice to play that side.”

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
