Aaron and Mack put John in a dangerous position.
Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale’s Aaron Dingle will put newcomer John Sugden in a dangerous position next week, after he puts a new criminal plan into action.
Since John first arrived in the Dales, he and Aaron have been embroiled in a slightly ambiguous relationship, which has already left John’s long-lost sister Victoria Sugden intrigued.
In next week’s scenes, Liam Cavanagh also starts asking John questions about what’s happening between him and Aaron, but John makes it clear that he doesn’t want to talk about it.
Things take another turn when Aaron is approached by PC Swirling while out on Main Street, just as John is coming over. PC Swirling starts to press Aaron for information about a batch of smart watches that have been stolen, revealing that Aaron’s car was spotted leaving the crime scene.
Aaron pretends to have no idea what PC Swirling is talking about, and he’s pleased when Swirling can’t find any evidence to implicate him, meaning that John is totally in the dark about what is going on.
Later on, Mackenzie Boyd suggests to Aaron that they should use John’s van to offload the stolen watches, and Aaron approaches John to ask for permission to borrow his van.
But when John says no, Aaron takes John’s keys anyway while he’s not looking. Later on, Aaron and Mack get access to John’s van and covertly pile the stolen smart watches into the vehicle.
However, just as Aaron is about to drive away with his haul, he suddenly realises that all of the watches in the van have disappeared.
What has happened to the stolen goods, and could John have anything to do with it?
With John appearing to harbour several secrets, his relationship with Victoria is becoming more tense, and Isabel Hodgins, who plays her, has told Digital Spy and other press that her character is getting increasingly annoyed.
“Ultimately I think she wants to get to know John and she’d love for him to open up to her,” she explained. “It’s constant frustration that she’s not really getting anywhere with him.”
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
