Emmerdale fans are convinced that Nate Robinson has been killed after his brutal attack at the hands of his dad Cain Dingle, who will be wracked with guilt if his son has died
Emmerdale enthusiasts are speculating on the fate of Nate Robinson, played by Jurell Carter, suspecting there might be a dark twist to his sudden exit from the ITV drama.
Before he abruptly left for Shetland, Nate was assaulted by his father Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) when Cain found out about a kiss between his son and wife Moira Barton (Natalie J Robb).
Cain, unable to contain his anger, punched Nate even as he tried to declare his innocence. Furthermore, Tracy Metcalfe, Nate’s ex-partner acted by Amy Walsh, seemed to abandon hopes of their reconciliation following contemplation of a move to Shetland with their daughter to mend their fractured relationship.
In the wake of events leaving him isolated, Nate departed the village seemingly without bidding farewell, save for a parting interaction with John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth).
Amidst suspicions over John’s involvement in Nate’s unexplained departure, some fans express fears that John may have orchestrated a kidnap or even murder, reports Leeds Live.
One viewer posited on a Facebook fan page that Nate could potentially be a victim of fatal internal injuries, implicating his father: “I wonder if Nate dies from internal bleeding instead of being involved with the barn fire.”
This prompted another to consider the emotional repercussions on Cain: “Cain will be devastated if he dies, what will that do to him?”
A third chimed in, pondering the legal ramifications for Cain: “Maybe that’s why he leaves for a while? Tracy saw him beat up Nate so I suppose he could be sent to prison if Nate dies? “
“He’s leaving so could be locked up,” one person remarked, while another added: “I wondered about internal bleeding when he was holding his side.”
A viewer speculated: “Nate dies, Cain wracked with guilt when Moita’s diagnosis comes out, brain tumour which could be causing her to act the way she was. Cain leaves as he can’t stand to see wee Frankie without her daddy.”
During last week’s aired episodes, Cain expressed sorrow over Nate’s exit upon learning his wife needed critical surgery due to a brain tumour.
At the outset, the farmer firmly opposed the surgical option, pinning hopes on medication to halt her fits. Nevertheless, after a subsequent seizure occurred in front of their child, Moira resolved to undergo surgery.
Mention of Nate has been scant; yet, Tracy’s inquiries to John concerning Nate’s location raised eyebrows, particularly after the barn inferno that perilously threatened Moira and Ruby Milligan (portrayed by Beth Cordingly).
“He wasn’t there, he left before it happened, he mentioned Shetland,” John told an inquisitive Tracy querying about the near-disastrous fire.
Surprised at Nate’s silent departure, Tracy commented: “Yeah, I knew he was going there, I just thought I might have seen him before he took off,” dismayed by Nate’s missed farewell.
“I am sorry,” offered John, to which Tracy queried, “It’s not your fault, is it?”
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV.
