Emmerdale airs shock death as fans predict arrival of ‘troublesome’ character

Emmerdale has confirmed one character has died, but their demise could spark a whole lot more trouble for Caleb Milligan

Emmerdale aired the death of Helen Fox on Wednesday (September 18) in a devastating twist for her daughter Ruby (Beth Cordingly), but viewers think trouble is now on the horizon.

During the latest trip to the village, Caleb Milligan (William Ash) was waiting for dying Helen to transfer a large sum of cash over to him in exchange for seeing Ruby one last time.

But when the hospital called Ruby to say goodbye to her ill mum, she arrived 20 minutes too late. Ruby walked into the room with tears in her eyes as she looked over her mum’s dead body.

Helen hadn’t seen her daughter for years after she disowned Ruby for her relationship with her now husband Caleb.

When Ruby returned home, she told Caleb she would never know what her mum wanted to say to her as he looked on pretending to be shocked.

But when he asked where Ruby’s dad was, it sparked a frenzy online with Emmerdale fans predicting he was about to arrive in the village and cause trouble. Caleb then received the £100k from Helen’s account.

Taking to X, one Emmerdale fan wrote: “Ruby’s dad is still alive maybe he will pop up soon #emmerdale.”

A second stated: “Only matter of time before Ruby dad comes to village then, along with their daughter Stephanie #Emmerdale.”

“#Emmerdale how long til Ruby finds out her hubby is not only twisted but evil & nasty & well….evil a bunch more.”

“Ruby won’t be too pleased when she hears what Caleb has been up to #Emmerdale”, added another.

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour long episode every Thursday
