EastEnders’ Teddy Mitchell offered to pay Reiss Colwell’s debts again on Tuesday and also offered to help free Sonia Fowler, but it seems he has an ulterior motive
EastEnders’ Teddy Mitchell hinted he had something up his sleeve and was using Reiss Colwell on Tuesday.
The latest episode saw him step in to help a struggling Reiss, who is hiding his killer secret. He killed his poorly wife Debbie a few weeks back, but his fiancée Sonia Fowler was charged for the murder and sent to prison.
Reiss is vowing to free pregnant Sonia, but refusing to confess to his crime. He’s also still in a lot of debt to residents, and in the latest episode Teddy offered to help him out.
He confirmed that he had something he wanted Reiss to do for him, wanting him to work on his books to hide his wealth by messing with the numbers. Teddy claimed they needed to be done as soon as possible, and that he would make it worth his while.
Piling on the pressure to get them sorted, Teddy offered to pay off Reiss’ £2,000 debt to one resident, and then offered him the chance to free Sonia from prison. He claimed to know someone, a PI, who could help Sonia’s case.

With that, he vowed to help Reiss get Sonia out of prison, suggesting his acquaintance was good at making cases fall apart in court. Reiss accepted Teddy’s offer, desperate to get help for Sonia.
It will possibly come at a price though given Teddy is clearly hiding something about his past, while he also revealed his PI pal would uncover Debbie’s real killer. So will Reiss need to watch out?
Viewers were convinced Teddy was up to no good and it could be bad news for Reiss. Clearly using him to get his books sorted, fans believed Reiss could be in trouble as others predicted the real reason he wanted the books sorted was linked to his ex.
One fan posted: “Reiss is gonna be in debt to Teddy and the idiot doesn’t know it!” Another posted: “Teddy is being far too nice to Reece,” as a third said: “So Teddy wants Reiss to fiddle the books due to his ex wife and he’s got to see her lawyer.”
