Coronation Street’s Todd Grimshaw is set to be at the centre of a new romance storyline as his former flame is rumoured to be making a return to the cobbles.
Coronation Street’s Todd Grimshaw, played by Gareth Pierce, might be on the brink of a romantic storyline as the actor hinted at the return of a former love interest.
Fans of the ITV soap will recall that Todd had a brief fling with Moses Ekundayo (Michael Fatogun), who was introduced as Paul Foreman’s (Peter Ash) personal assistant.
However, their budding romance abruptly ended when Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) voiced concerns about her son’s care, leading to Moses losing his job and leaving Weatherfield for London.
Now, there are hints that love could be in the air again for Todd and Moses. Gareth, who has portrayed Todd since 2020, teased Moses’ potential return to the cobbles after soap boss Iain MacLeod hinted at a future for the pair.
In an interview with Digital Spy, Gareth said: “We tried to instil as much spark as we could in that short-ish time that the characters were together.”

He added: “What Iain said is that it’s got potential for Moses to maybe feel like the one that got away,” reports the Liverpool Echo.
Gareth also suggested that a relationship storyline for Todd could be on the horizon, saying: “So whether that does swoop back around at some point, I think there’s definitely a sense that we want to play a relationship story with Todd at some point in the near future.”
The actor, who replaced Bruno Langley in the role, further noted: “There have been references to the fact that he’s getting on now. Todd is going to be 40 in January next year, so there’s been the odd reference to ‘still living at home, nearly 40’.”
Speaking last October, shortly before Moses’ introduction, Iain told Digital Spy: “There’s a dalliance for Todd, but it arrives at quite a poor time. And the person with whom he has the connection is probably not ideal in terms of the situation that Todd meets them in.
“At this time, it’s only a little test drive of his relationship with this person. It’s not very long running, but we thought that if we like what we see, it might go on to be long-running later on.”
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
