Coronation Street’s Alan Halsall’s sweet six-word message of support for on-screen daughter

The Tyrone Dobbs actor was quick to support his on-screen daughter as she was given some exciting news

Coronation Street star Alan Halsall has shown his support for his on-screen daughter as she was given some exciting news. The actor reshared a post from the parents of Isabella (Bella) Flanagan and William Flanagan, who play Hope Dobbs and Joseph Brown in the ITV soap.

The ‘Flanagan Family’ post on Instagram was speaking about Bella’s latest career boost as it has been revealed she’s up for an award. The young actress is up for the ‘Favourite Young Actor (under 18)’ award at this year’s TV Times Awards 2024.

She’ll have competition for the gong from Corrie co-stars Jude Riordan, who plays former on-screen boyfriend Sam Blakeman, and Liam McCheyne, who plays Dylan Wilson.

The post from Bella’s mum Rachel on their family Instagram page, which featured pictures of the teen on the soap’s set and on-screen as Hope, read: “So……This girl has only gone and got herself a @tvtimesmagazine best young nomination which she would be ever so grateful for your vote!

“She’s spent more of her life on the cobbles than off now and has given us over 400 episodes of Hope Stapes wicked humour! She absolutely loves playing the naughtiest kid in soap land so if you fancy a vote the links in our bio @bellaflanaganofficial_ @coronationstreet.”

The comments quickly came flooding in, including from former Corrie co-star Lottie Henshall, who played Jade Rowan, Hope’s long-lost half-sister, who said: “My vote everyday! Superstar.” Waterloo Road star Maisey Jade also shared: “She’s definitely getting my vote. Well done beautiful.”

Meanwhile, Alan, who plays Belle’s on-screen dad Tyrone Dobbs, shared the post to his Instagram Story and said: “You will always have my vote,” in between a red love heart and a trophy emoji.

Last month, Alan’s real and soap lives collided in an adorable moment while out in Manchester. The soap star was accompanied by his mum and his daughter during a trip to the theatre as they watched former Corrie star Kym Marsh playing Disney’s iconic villain Cruella De Vil in 101 Dalmatians: The Musical.

It’s stop at Manchester’s Palace Theatre saw the stars were out in force to support Kym, including Alan. He took his daughter Sienna, who he shares with former Corrie and Hollyoaks star Lucy-Jo Hudson, with him to see the show as well as his mum.

But as they headed past photographers who were waiting to capture the stars as they headed into the city centre venue for the 101 Dalmatians press night, Alan was united with his on-screen daughters, Bella and Billie Naylor, who plays Ruby Dobbs.
