EastEnders’ latest episode saw Chrissie Watts drop a bombshell about her romance with Jake Moon on the BBC soap decades ago, resulting in sad scenes with Sharon Watts
There were some nostalgic scenes during Wednesday’s EastEnders, as Chrissie Watts reflected on her past and mentioned some former characters.
Warning, this article contains spoilers from Wednesday nights’s episode! In the episode that was released in the morning on BBC iPlayer, ahead of transmission on BBC One, the former soap villain threatened Sharon Watts after her big comeback after almost 20 years away. Blaming her for her being imprisoned for the murder of Den Watts, Chrissie prepared to take her revenge.
Sharon had been imprisoned last week for contempt of court, resulting in her reunion with her former stepmother. Chrissie killed Sharon’s adoptive father Den in a huge twist back in 2005.
Sharon had tracked Chrissie down at the airport as she attempted to flee, with the police arresting and charging her. But what Sharon didn’t know at the time was that Chrissie was pregnant, as revealed in a bombshell on Wednesday.
Jake Moon was the father of Chrissie’s baby after they embarked on a romance following Den’s demise. Chrissie had confessed all about murdering Den, with her and Jake plotting to flee together.

But following her arrest she ended things with him and accepted her fate. But who was Jake and what happened to him amid Chrissie’s return?
Jake was the cousin of Alfie Moon, and he arrived in Walford with his brother Danny in 2004. After his sad break-up with killer Chrissie, Jake embarked on a dark path after finding out Danny was doing villain Johnny Allen’s dodgy dealings.
Danny was revealed to have murdered Dennis Rickman, and when Jake found out Danny attacked him before kidnapping Grant and Phil Mitchell. The brothers wanted Johnny to confess to Dennis’ murder, but he ordered Danny to shoot and kill them both.
Jake ended up saving them though by accidentally killing his own brother, while Johnny was arrested over Dennis’ death. Jake took Johnny’s young daughter Ruby Allen back to Walford to look after her, with Johnny paying him to do so.
Later on when Sean Slater began using Ruby for her money, Jake turned to Johnny for help. Johnny swore revenge and made a call to Jake wanting him to kill Sean, but he suffered a heart attack and was only able to say the words: “Jake…kill him for me”.
Sadly his cellmate mistakenly believed this was an order for Jake to be killed, and Jake was ambushed by two strangers and was never seen again. Jake appeared to be killed off while it was never really confirmed, and it’s not known if Chrissie knows this.
In the episode she confirmed she’d fallen pregnant with his baby, but sadly she suffered a miscarriage a few weeks after finding out. Chrissie blamed Sharon for the loss of her baby and planned her revenge only to be caught out.
