Emmerdale’s Will Taylor actor Dean Andrews has revealed who his character thinks is behind his blackmail horror, and it’s a familiar face on the ITV soap
Emmerdale star Dean Andrews has teased who is targeting Will Taylor, while two characters appear to be ruled out.
Will has been harassed for weeks with threatening messages and deepfake porn imagery. Someone is out to get him, demanding a lot of money to cover up his secret fling with Rose Jackson from his partner Kim Tate.
But after a missed money drop-off sees the blackmail money increase, Will is left terrified when he’s faced with a woodland showdown. It seems two characters have been ruled out as being behind it, as Kim gets kidnapped and Rose is seemingly abroad.
So who is out to get Will and why? Actor Dean teased who it was to The Mirror and other press, revealing who Will believes is after him. It’s got to be someone who knows about the fling, and Will is questioning one key character who could be to blame.
He said: “He’s got no idea, he just keeps getting these random messages, one or two AI messages which kind of freak him out. He’s got no idea who the blackmailer is but he’s desperate to get the money so he can carry on his life at Home Farm.
“He’s obviously terrified, otherwise he wouldn’t be complying like this.” He added: “Initially he thinks it’s Caleb, because Caleb comes along and he initially thinks it’s Caleb and he says, ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about. There’s a fire, we could do with some help.’ Will just dashes off to try and help where he can, has a little accident there and misses the drop – and things do get a little worse for him. The blackmailer’s asking for more money because they’re angry.”

On if he can defeat them, he went on: “He’s hoping so! In his head, somebody asks for X amount of pounds, you find X amount of pounds and, in his head, the problem will go away.
“Whether that in reality is the case… somebody with a little more intellect than Will might think they’ll just keep coming back for more, but he’s just desperate to get what they’re asking for and then he feels like he’ll be OK.”
On who he suspects, Dean said of Will: “I think he’s got a few. I think he thought it was Caleb at one bit. He doesn’t actually know. He just thinks it’s somebody in the village. I don’t think there’s any clues as to who it could be. He thinks about Cain and Caleb, people he’s had run-ins in the past with.”
On the danger ahead, he added: “There’s some good stuff along the way that’s enjoyable. He’s multi-faceted. He’s got quite a few personalities, we keep jumping from one to another. He’s good fun to play and it’s been great working with Claire for the last few years. He’s been pretty lucky in the village.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
