Coronation Street’s Tracy Barlow leaves the cobbles after bombshell admission to Steve McDonald

After returning to the cobbles in recent Coronation Street scenes, Tracy Barlow makes the decision to leave Weatherfield again as she gives surprising advice to Steve McDonald.

Tracy Barlow gets ready to leave Coronation Street in upcoming scenes – but not before giving Steve McDonald some surprising advice.

The florist portrayed by Kate Ford left the cobbles back in April, 2024, after her affair with former footballer Tommy Orpington was revealed to her husband Steve (played by Simon Gregson). After admitting she’d grown bored of their marriage, Tracy left the cabbie and jetted off to Spain.

But in a sudden twist, she recently returned to Weatherfield, with many ITV viewers at home speculating that she may have been eyeing her stepfather Ken Barlow’s windfall. However, in scenes airing next week, it becomes clear that Tracy has no ill intentions towards anybody at No.1 – not even Steve.

To top it all off, upon her departure, Tracy gives Steve astonishing advice as she suspects there could be chemistry between him and another woman in Coronation Street.

Tracy will leave Coronation Street but not without giving Steve some advice

Coming up next week, Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney), Ken (William Roache) and the latter’s carer Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) all wave Tracy off as she leaves for the airport with Steve. However, just as the pair get ready to part ways again on good terms, Tracy tells Steve that Cassie is obviously harbouring romantic feelings for him and she encourages him to give her a chance. But will he really take the advice on board?

Viewers have been hoping to see Steve finally move on from Tracy with Cassie, particularly as both him and Tracy have been chasing after one another, wreaking havoc in the cobbles in the process, for several years after a one night stand led them to welcome their daughter Amy.

Actor Simon Gregson was grilled over his ITV alter ego’s future in Weatherfield on This Morning as both Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard commented on Steve’s chemistry with fellow resident Cassie Plummer back in June, 2024, leaving the soap legend to tease a new romance for his character.

“There’s a little bit of a spark with Cassie, she comes on the scene obviously, that’s on our screens at the moment. There’s definitely a spark there,” Simon said about his character’s blossoming bond with the daughter of no-nonsense Evelyn Plummer. “She’s troubled, she’s got a glint in her eye and Steve likes that, they’re quite similar in ways. What happens there? Who knows! You’ll have to keep watching,” he teased.
