Coronation Street fans will see Paul Foreman’s heartbreaking death play out in harrowing scenes on the ITV soap on Monday night, with a recent screener leaving everyone in tears
Coronation Street will air harrowing scenes on Monday night, as Paul Foreman passes away with his loved ones left devastated.
Viewers know the character was diagnosed with motor neurone disease last year, and his health has dramatically declined ever since. In recent episodes, Paul’s breathing has worsened and on Monday the character will be left barely responsive, leading to him being rushed to hospital.
Sadly in devastating scenes the much-loved character will pass away. The Mirror was at a special screening for the episode recently, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room.
Cast members in attendance were left in floods of tears, with this being the first time they had seen the episode in full since filming the devastating scenes weeks earlier. With Paul’s final scenes on the show filmed in chronological order, it meant his goodbye was for real.
The cast were saying goodbye to beloved cast member Peter Ash as he bowed out of the role, with his final scene being Paul’s heartbreaking death. While details surrounding what happens are being kept under wraps, it is certainly a must watch for Corrie viewers on Monday night.
Those in attendance and involved in the heartbreaking storyline were left overcome with emotion as the episode played out, with the episode being pretty harrowing. They weren’t alone, with everyone in the room sobbing over what is no doubt one of the saddest Corrie exits ever, if not the saddest of them all.

As the 18-month storyline comes to a devastating end, before beginning a new chapter without Paul, viewers will no doubt be needing the tissue as it’s a real tearjerker. While there are other moments and characters not linked to Paul featuring in the episode, at the heart of it is Paul and his loved ones, and the moment they must say goodbye.
Speaking about the scenes and watching it for the first time, Peter told us it was “strange” but “emotional”, and he warned fans it would be a “very sad” episode. He revealed: “I am happy with how it turned out and I’m excited for people to see it. I think it’s gonna be a very sad episode, people have come to love Paul as a character. It’s been amazing, people have taken him to heart.
“It’s gonna be very sad, I’m looking forward to seeing the aftermath and how Billy, Bernie, how they all deal with it. It’s bittersweet, mixed emotions. I’m so lucky with the actors I work with, they are amazing. It’s been really special, I am gonna miss everyone.”
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
