the houseguests at the Vic creating a rift between George (Colin Salmon) and wife-to-be Elaine (Harriet Thorpe).
And they get into even more dire straits when Kojo (Dayo Koleosho) disappears after a triggering turn of events, leaving George fearing for his safety.
With Junior (Micah Balfour) in his dad’s bad books as a result, Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) offers more than a helping hand – but she and George may soon need to turn their attention to daughter Anna (Molly Rainford), who is in for a shock of her own.
As if this wasn’t all complicated enough, Chrissie Watts (Tracy-Ann Oberman) also re-emerges, with her motives quickly becoming clear.
Monday September 9
A difficult conversation leaves Elaine shaken up. George and Kojo have a fun day out together, but when they return to The Vic, Johnny accidentally triggers Kojo, who hits out at him.
During a heated conversation, Elaine explodes and tells George that Kojo has to go because they aren’t equipped to manage his needs, unaware that Kojo is listening.
George tries to calm the situation and heads off to make Kojo a drink, but while he’s out, his brother slips out of The Vic.
When he returns to find Kojo missing, George is distraught and blames Elaine for driving him to run away.
The circumstances of Chrissie’s return unfold.
Tuesday September 10
The police arrive to help in the search for Kojo, as George freezes guilty Elaine out. Kojo wakes up in his hiding place and heads for the tube station.
Junior spots him and tries to convince Kojo to come back to The Vic with him, but his uncle tells him he wants to go home to Ghana.
Anna tells Bobby that she’s having a hard time, and he wants to cheer her up, but duty calls at Beales’s Eels, so he tries to enlist Freddie to help.
Determined not to be alone with Anna, Freddie makes up a flimsy excuse that leaves Anna hurt. Later, Anna decides to ask Freddie if everything is okay between them, but she has a dizzy spell before she gets to him.
Chrissie’s presence continues to send shockwaves.
Wednesday September 11
Relations remain frosty between George and Junior. Cindy gives Junior some advice about George, encouraging him to give his dad a chance.
Later, after he and George share a poignant moment, Junior texts Cindy to ask if he can thank her properly later.
Anna goes to see Freddie, who insists everything is fine but won’t commit to going birdwatching together.
When Anna suggests they go for food with Bobby and Gina, Freddie thinks there is safety in numbers and agrees.
However, at Walford East, Gina and Bobby get sidetracked, and Priya teases them about being on a date, so Freddie flees, making up another weak excuse. Anna is upset and confides in Gina, who resolves to find out what Freddie’s problem is and soon realises that Freddie has feelings for Anna, too.
Jack breaks the news to Amy that the police will want to interview her about the club crush and when Ricky wonders if Penny will go to prison, Jack refuses to rule it out. Chelsea is privately horrified to realise the severity of the situation.
Thursday September 12
Anna’s troubles are exacerbated when she goes to find Freddie and then throws up in the café before she can speak to him properly. Gina quizzes Anna about whether she could be pregnant.
Cindy almost catches Gina buying Anna a pregnancy test. At The Vic, Anna takes the test and discovers she’s pregnant with Bobby’s baby.
Chelsea fusses around irritated Amy, who tells her that she needs space. Realising that Amy needs someone to talk to, Chelsea convinces Denzel to visit Amy and lift her spirits. Denzel still believes he’s to blame for Amy being at the club that night.
Jack reveals that the police tech team are working on the corrupted footage of the crush, and they’ll soon know the true story of what happened that night.
Avani is supposedly hanging out with Barney but ignores him to focus on texting somebody. Fed up, Barney asks her who she’s messaging and correctly guesses it’s a boy. Avani snaps at him to shut him up, but it’s clear that Barney has touched a nerve.
A difficult week comes to a head for those wrapped up in Chrissie’s situation.
