Hollyoaks star David Joshua-Anthony exits Andre role

Another notable departure.

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Hollyoaks star David Joshua-Anthony has exited his role as Andre Clark.

Digital Spy has learned learned the actor recently left the E4 soap. His exit scenes have already been filmed and will air in the coming weeks (via The Sun).

David made his first appearance in Hollyoaks last December, where he reunited with his long-lost sister Vicky Grant. The siblings had another family reunion earlier this year when their father Donny Clark turned up at Vicky’s 18th birthday party after years of estrangement.

The role marked David’s TV drama debut, and he said that it had been “amazing” to join an established show like Hollyoaks.

“I’m enjoying the process of playing Andre,” he said in November 2023. “He is a kid who always thinks one step ahead of everyone else and is filled with so many thoughts and ideas. I can’t wait to see what life in the village has in store for him.”

There is no telling yet how Andre will be written out of the soap, but there are sure to be more exits following the stunt week and one-year time jump as Hollyoaks moves to its new weekly schedule.

This week’s episodes have already featured some major cast exits as Stephanie Waring and Ellis Hollins left as half-siblings Cindy and Tom Cunningham, alongside younger cast members Blake Wood and Isabella Hibbert (who played Hilton and Steph).

There are more dramatic exits to come, in the wake of Dave Williams being revealed as the murderous gangster Blue.

Fans know Jamie Lomas will be bowing out as bad boy Warren Fox, with more cast exits coming from Matthew James-Bailey (Ethan Williams), Ela-May Demircan (Leah Barnes), Charlie Behan (Charlie Dean), and Annie Wallace (Sally St Claire) in upcoming episodes.

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.
