Hollyoaks icon Chelsee Healey will be returning to the Channel 4 soap as Goldie McQueen following concerns the soap legend had been axed by casting bosses
Chelsee Healey is set to make an sensational return to Hollyoaks as gobby villager Goldie McQueen.
The 36-year-old actress first appeared on Hollyoaks in 2008 as a guest role of a woman called Michelle before joining as a regular role, playing McQueen family legend Goldie in 2016.
However, the soap icon sparked concern amongst fans of the Channel 4 soap earlier this year as she posted a cryptic message on social media about feeling “dark and heavy”.
Sharing a selfie on her Instagram story, Chelsee wrote at the time: “Been very unactive on here. Things are feeling a little heavy and dark at the minute. Staying [arm emoji] for my girls and have the best support around me. Hope everyone is well.”

Chelsee’s post came after it was confirmed that members of Hollyoaks cast and crew had been axed due to ongoing cuts which has seen episodes slashed from five a week to three in a huge show shake-up.
Bosses have since come up with a “time jump” concept to fast-forward characters out of the soap as the action moves forward by one year. However, it appears the Chelsee, who is currently on maternity leave since welcoming her second child, will be back in the village soon as Goldie.

Malique Thompson-Dwyer, who plays Goldie’s son Prince McQueen, has confirmed that fans will see Chelcee back on television screens in the near future.
He revealed: “She [Chelcee] will be coming back soon. She has had a baby in real life so it’s going to be amazing when she comes back.
“Prince needs some sort of guidance as well. He’s got his family but his mum, I feel like she’s the only one Prince will really listen to. I feel like he needs her back.”

It comes after the news that Annie Wallace revealed she was leaving the soap after nine years playing Sally St Claire. Ahead of her exit on the Channel 4 soap, the actress said: “When I was told my character was going, I was very shocked. I had a bad weekend. But then I got on with it. I don’t want to collapse into sobs. That’s not my thing.”
“I’ve watched my final scenes and it was bittersweet. I found it really difficult. I’m at a bit of a loose end. But I’ve got my fingers in lots of pies.”
