Emmerdale’s Danny Miller addresses ‘very important issue’ after ITV soap fans left baffled

Danny has been a part of the Emmerdale cast since 2008

Emmerdale was quick to tackle a ‘very important issue’ on Tuesday evening after Danny Miller’s recent behind-the-scenes video left fans somewhat puzzled.

The beloved ITV soap earlier this week posted an entertaining BTS video featuring Danny, 33, who portrays Aaron Dingle, with the caption: “Come have a look around Caleb’s Depot! #Emmerdale.”

However, fans couldn’t help but focus on how Danny pronounced the word depot, sparking a debate that it should be said ‘dep-oh’ rather than ‘dee-po’, as the actor opted for.

Many hopped onto the comments thread of the post, humorously correcting the pronunciation. One individual teased: “What’s a DEEPO lol it’s DEP-O”, another fan playfully put: “We’re not in the States, Danny, sweetheart! It’s Depot – as in DEppo, not Deeeeepo! !” accompanied by laughing emojis, one chimed in: “Dee-po? Depp-o?” while someone else pointed out: “Danny it’s pronounced Depo with a silent T unless you’re American; they say Deepoo!”

In response, both Danny and Emmerdale saw the funny side as they posted a hilarious Instagram video on Tuesday night entitled: “We need to address a very important issue that arose yesterday. #Emmerdale”, reports Leeds Live.

In the footage, marked with a tongue-in-cheek banner reading “breaking news: Emmerdale actor can’t say depot”, Danny humorously acknowledged his error, where he deliberately mispronounced various words in a hilarious video.

He kicked off the video saying: “Well first and foremost, everyone, I’d just like to say thank you all for coming today. I thought it was about time we addressed the mispronunciation yesterday of the word depot.”

Viewers and Danny’s co-stars didn’t hold back on their reactions to the comical clip, with Lisa Riley, who portrays Mandy Dingle, responding with a string of laughing emojis. Lawrence Robb, known as Mack Boyd on screen, praised: “Very very strong work!” while Bradley Johnson, taking on the role of Vinny Dingle, chimed in with numerous crying laughing emojis.

Fans also shared their amusement, with one commenting: “How can a character and his actor be more different, Danny you are hilarious!”, while another wrote: “Hilarious. Danny needs comedy show, love ur humour”. Meanwhile, another fan expressed: “Danny is the funniest.. Love him” and yet another viewer exclaimed: “Brilliant soo funny!”
