Frankie reports abuser JJ to the police in Hollyoaks – but another upsetting twist is confirmed

Hollyoaks spoilers follow for Thursday’s (September 5) episode that is now available to view on Channel 4 streaming. The episode in question will air on E4 on Friday September 6 at 7pm.

Frankie Osborne (Isabelle Smith) bravely reported her abuser, twin brother JJ (Ryan Mulvey), to the police.

The teen, as viewers know, has been sexually abused by JJ since she was nine years old.

JJ gaslit her into thinking that no-one would believe her and thus she stayed silent – until last month when she confided in dad Darren (Ashley Taylor Dawson).

Darren immediately believed her and wasted little time in confronting JJ for what he put his twin sister through. Suzanne Ashworth (Suzanne Hall), however, refused to believe Frankie, standing by JJ instead.

Darren has respected Frankie’s wishes, refraining from reporting her ordeal to the police. Nancy (Jessica Fox), however, found out about the abuse earlier this week and, as a teacher, she had no choice but to inform authorities.

JJ was arrested for assaulting a police officer when he grew violent but he was set to be released after questioning. Little did he know, however, that Frankie had bravely recounted years worth of abuse to the police at the very same station, which led to him being arrested once again – this time on suspicion of sexual assault and rape.

JJ once again claimed that he was innocent, with Suzanne reiterating such a thing but as the questioning became more and more intense, JJ told the detective that he and Frankie did have sex – which stopped a horrified Suzannein her tracks.

The mum headed outside and broke down in tears, unable to comprehend what JJ was saying. Frankie was summoned back to the station and, upon arriving, she found Suzanne crying.

Frankie was led to believe that JJ had confessed to the abuse. Instead, however, he claimed that the sex was consensual.

Will Frankie get the justice that she deserves? Will JJ pay for what he’s done?

Hollyoaks streams weeknights at 7:30pm on Channel 4’s streaming platform. As of next week, the show drops to three episodes week and will air Mondays to Wednesdays, with episodes available to stream from 7am each respective morning.
