BBC EastEnders death ‘sealed’ as The Six set their sights on new victim after explosive confession

Viewers have been fearing the worst for Bernie in recent weeks but after this Thursday’s trip to the Square and the Six’s explosive confession, she may be running out of time

Another whodunnit could be on the cards after Bernie Taylor was finally told the truth about Keanu Taylor’s murder this Thursday (September 5).

Clair Norris’ BBC One alter ego has been desperate to bring her brother justice in recent months, after he was found dead and buried underneath the Bridge Street café. This led her to team up with Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo), who was framed for the crime.

While the pair plotted, amid fan theories this hinted at potential trouble ahead for Bernie, they’d thrown the blame on Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), due to her chaotic relationship with Keanu, theorising that she may be protected by her pal Linda Carter (Kellie Bright).

But after the Queen Vic landlady vainly confessed to the police, who refused to believe her, Bernie received a nasty shock when Linda finally confessed to the murder alone, adding she could no longer live with the weight of her secret.

Meanwhile, the rest of The Six panicked as Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) warned them that his mother had gone missing, and he feared she may be doing something she may regret later on – like confessing to murder.

Sharon Watts, who is held under custody for contempt of court after an angry outburst during Dean’s murder trial, eventually got wind of Linda’s confession from her own solicitor, Ritchie Scott (Sian Webber), sending everyone into a panicked frenzy.

Fearing that Linda may confess to Bernie after her failed attempt at the police station, Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), Denise Fox (Diane Parish) and Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) joined her at the café, where Bernie tried to choke the life out of Linda for murdering Keanu.

The Five all told Bernie the truth, admitting they’d been scared by Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) moments before Keanu’s death. Struggling to cope and in tears, feeling notably betrayed by her “friend” and employer Kathy, Bernie stormed out after Denise begged for her to wait until they’d said goodbye to their children before turning them in.

Linda later received a call from Ritchie, summoning her at the police station where she was confronted by a furious Sharon over her confession. Elsewhere, Bernie was speaking to her mother Karen on the phone as she suggested a holiday away from the ups and downs of life in Walford – but over on social media, fans are now convinced her own death is imminent.

A theory now claims that Bernie could be at the core of her own whodunnit, particularly as her family is scattered abroad, leaving her with very little support in Albert Square. And with her now knowing the full secret, the Six may be tempted to take action against her.

“I’m calling it now, something happens to Bernie and we get another 8 months of nonsense trying to guess who killed her”, one of them penned over on X, otherwise known as Twitter.

A second echoed in shock: “So after 8 months of covering up murder, they all just confess? Surely Bernie’s gonna collapse on the way to the police station or something cos wtf.” A third agreed: “They Need To Kill Bernie Now To Be Safe Tbh.”

Plenty of characters have previously been tipped to meet their end with the Six growing increasingly desperate to keep their actions and lies under wraps. But actress Letitia Dean recently hinted that “unpredictable” Bernie may be The Six’s next target.

“It’s very concerning for her. Bernie is hell-bent on making Sharon pay for the death of her brother and she’s made it very clear that she won’t let this issue lie”, Letitia shared. “We’ve seen Bernie resort to some very low tactics in the past couple of weeks so who knows how far she is willing to go, she’s very unpredictable.” Is Bernie’s time in Walford up?
