EastEnders fans are convinced that Linda Carter will get away with the murder of Keanu Taylor after she made a shock confession to the police in court
EastEnders viewers were left on the edge of their seats as Linda Carter, portrayed by Kellie Bright, confessed to the chilling murder of Keanu Taylor in a shocking plot twist.
The BBC One soap’s fans have been engrossed this week as Dean Wicks, played by Matt Di Angelo, stood trial for Keanu’s (Danny Walters) Christmas Day 2023 murder.
Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) and Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) all faced intense cross-examination from Dean’s lawyer Warren Finn (Neil Roberts). As it seemed that innocent Dean was about to be found guilty, he confessed in court to raping Linda in 2014 suggesting she was framing him out of vengeance.
On Wednesday (September 4), Dean caused a mistrial as he was interrogated by police over Linda’s rape.
Meanwhile, back in Albert Square, The Six convened alongside Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff). While Linda was relieved that Dean had confessed, the others were more worried, reports the Daily Star.
The women bickered over their next steps, with the possibility of further questioning about Keanu’s fatal night looming, which could take months.
Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) highlighted that now Dean had admitted to Linda’s rape, they were framing an innocent man for murder, who would spend his life behind bars for a crime he didn’t commit.
Unfazed by the pressure, Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) advised the group to keep a low profile and carry on with their lives, but Linda appeared uncertain.
Dean’s scheme didn’t pan out as he envisaged. Without fresh evidence to implicate another, his legal advisor warned of receiving consecutive sentences for both crimes of rape and murder.

In a moment of overwhelming anguish, Linda grappled with the memories of slaying Keanu right where she stood, bolting to the basement in her distress. A battle with her demons ensued as she poised to imbibe vodka but refrained, shattering the bottle in defiance of succumbing to her cravings.
Desperate, she reached out to Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), who found her broken on the ground and embraced her in solace.
Drowning in self-reproach, Linda heard Phil’s stark realisation that her life had irrevocably changed. He insisted she must endure, for the sake of her children, lest she fall victim to her vices.
She then tiptoed to give her sleeping children a final kiss, carrying the heavyweight of guilt to the police station.

Meanwhile, Dean phoned Jade, attempting to dissuade her from rash judgments amid impending rape allegations.
Linda bypassed him, resolute to reveal the truth to the detective, ensuring her confession was caught on tape: “It was me,” she confessed, desperate. “I did it. I killed Keanu Taylor.”
Despite Linda’s staggering admission, some fans speculate she might evade justice, speculating on the possibility of Dean’s own admission to Keanu’s murder being a ploy for a diminished sentence, or to avert a retrial.
Taking to X, one eager viewer predicted: “My prediction for tomorrow – the detective tells Linda that Dean’s confessed to the murder. His solicitor basically told him he’s done himself with yesterday’s outburst and he won’t win a retrial. Confessing would give him less jail time than a guilty verdict.”

Another fan eagerly agreed, saying: “I do hope so”, while another added to the speculation: “I do hope the detectives don’t believe Linda, the same way they didn’t believe Suki about Ranveer #EastEnders.”
One more chimed in with their own theory: “I’m really hoping that detective tells Linda shut up and go home think about what you just said #EastEnders”, hinting at their hopes for a twist in the storyline.
Amid the buzz of theories, someone threw in a curveball about the latest cliffhanger: “Wait I’ve just seen someone say what if the end of today’s episode was all Linda’s dream… #EastEnders.”
