Emmerdale fans think they have worked out the cause of both Moira Dingle and Mack Boyd’s collapses as they fear there is something wrong on the farm ahead of a barn fire tragedy
Emmerdale viewers are worried they’ve noticed a worrying detail ahead of the upcoming ‘deadly’ barn fire next week.
Only recently, Moira Dingle’s erratic behaviour has been causing alarm among fans of the popular ITV soap. She’s been displaying uncharacteristic tendencies such as anger and forgetfulness. In a more recent episode, the village favourite collapsed, causing even more concern amongst viewers, and things are set to escalate for Moira next week when she starts a barn fire following a disturbing hallucination.
Meanwhile on the ITV soap, in another recent twist, Moira’s brother Mackenzie Boyd also collapsed after being chased by a bull on his sister’s farm. The simultaneous collapses of the two siblings have left fans questioning if there’s an underlying issue at the farm or a family connection, reports the Manchester Evening News.
Fans have taken to social media to voice their concerns. One viewer speculated: “I’m thinking it’s something he and Moira have got say from their parents. Seems odd that Moira has started having problems with blackouts and now Mack has after banging his head. I could be wrong though.”
A different account wrote: “Is there something wrong at the farm, now Mack isn’t well? I know he had the fall but I’m wondering if it’s something else!” while another put: “There’s going to be an explosion in the barn I wonder if there’s a gas leak or something?”
Meanwhile, a different account put: “Could be carbon monoxide poison from the boiler it could be broken”, another wrote: “I keep thinking it’s something they are using on the farm or John is poisoning them in some way” while a different viewer added: “I thought that last night when mack passed out is there some kind of chemical leak somewhere that’s making him and Moria ill.”
This comes as next week’s spoilers reveal a fiery disaster with both Moira and Ruby Fox-Milligan trapped in a blazing barn. In this week’s episodes, Moira’s behaviour becomes increasingly erratic, leading to an unexpected tender moment with stepson Nate Robinson. Nate firmly rebuffs her advances but Caleb Milligan witnesses the whole scene from a slightly different perspective.
Long-time viewers will remember that Moira and Nate had an affair years ago when Nate first arrived in the village, putting Moira’s marriage to Cain at risk. The trio have since moved past the incident, but it seems the storyline is set to resurface in future episodes. In next week’s spoilers, Moira’s husband Cain is shocked and taken aback when he hears about Moira’s ‘kiss’ with Nate from Caleb. When Moira downplays the incident, a stunned Cain is left reeling, leading to a heated argument which sees Moira storm off.
Meanwhile, Nate is left in a state of panic when Cain shows up demanding answers. When a livid Cain returns home, Moira is distraught to discover that he has assaulted Nate. Cain then confronts her about her indiscretion, causing a sense of déjà vu to creep into Moira’s mind. Shocked and stressed by the unfolding events, she slaps Cain, prompting him to leave.
Soon after, Ruby arrives at the barn to gloat but quickly feels sympathy for Moira when she doesn’t respond to the taunts. As a stressed out Moira accidentally spills tractor fuel in the barn, Ruby’s voice begins to merge with that of Moira’s old enemy Emma Barton, whom Moira killed back in 2017, and a disoriented Moira points her shotgun at a terrified Ruby. It isn’t long before a frazzled Moira locks the barn, seeing Emma instead of Ruby.
The situation escalates when Moira fires a warning shot into the air, scaring Ruby, as the shot hits a light bulb, igniting a spark. A struggle for the shotgun ends with Moira stunning Ruby with a blow to the head. It isn’t long before a dazed and shaken Moira snaps out of her stupor, leaving her puzzled about what just transpired.
In dramatic scenes, the spark ignites the tractor fuel and rapidly turns into a fire as Moira stands frozen, helpless next to Ruby’s body. Meanwhile, spotting the smoke billowing from the barn from afar, several villagers, including Mack, try to enter. With numerous residents trapped in the burning barn, it isn’t long before a massive explosion sounds out… will everyone survive?
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7:30pm.
