Emmerdale star ‘lets slip’ what’s wrong with Moira in health twist ahead of deadly blaze

After Emmerdale scenes teased what was happening to Moira Dingle after a horror collapse recently, actress Natalie J. Robb has hinted what could be behind some of her strange behaviour

Emmerdale’s Moira Dingle will take centre stage next week during a barn fire, with it now teased what could be wrong with the character.

As Moira continues to act aggressively and out of character, a moment in a barn on her farm leads to lives being in danger. A huge explosion rips through the barn after Moira’s health appears to take another turn.

More than one fan favourite will be left fighting for their lives next week, with a showdown with Ruby Miligan leaving one of them unconscious. As residents rush to the scene to save them, a deadly explosion rips through the building leaving people trapped and those outside the barn are thrown to the ground.

With the fates of characters not revealed, new spoilers have hinted that Moira’s worrying behaviour continues. As well as a shock moment with stepson Nate Robinson, Ruby is stunned to find Moira in a state at the barn.

Soon enough events lead to the deadly fire, and in a twist Ruby’s voice begins to blur with Moira’s old nemesis Emma Barton’s. Moira believes she’s seeing the woman she killed in 2017.

Emma had nearly killed her in a fire shortly before when Moira went into labour, and next week a dazed Moira believes Emma is in the barn. Speaking about the scenes and Moira’s behaviour, actress Natalie has teased what could be going on with her.

After a recent collapse and her admitting she didn’t think she was well, Moira’s situation may finally be explained next week. Speaking to The Mirror and other press about part of what is going on with Moira, Natalie said: “She’s got no idea what is happening to her.

“Definitely the PTSD comes through because we’re in the barn, the triggers are what it was before, it was Emma Barton in the barn when she tried to kill me, and then I had a baby I didn’t know I was having! Only in Emmerdale! So I think it sets something off in her, she starts to see Emma’s face in Rubys’ face. Ruby obviously doesn’t know what is going on, Moira has totally lost the plot.”

She went on: “I think there might be other things going on but theres definitely a build-up to things, definitely buried a lot of stuff and things do tend to come to the surface over time. It could have certain triggers that could do that, I think that is what she’s experiencing at the moment, amongst other things.”

On Moira being “unsettled” by whatever is happening to her, Natalie also said: “She’s definitely unsettled by it. Clearly convinced its partly menopause but what starts to worry her is the way she’s reacting, different outbursts she can’t control her anger at the minute.

“And she’s having a little bit of a drink as well so we don’t know if that is a contribution to it also, but she’s not drinking as much as maybe the audience are led to believe. And there lies the interesting stuff to come.”

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
