EastEnders fans point out ‘brilliant’ coincidence as The Six and Dean Wicks go to trial

The first day of Keanu Taylor’s murder trial has finally arrived as Dean Wicks tries to prove his innocence but The Six have left viewers of the BBC soap distracted by one detail

EastEnders has kicked off Keanu Taylor’s murder trial as Dean Wicks (played by Matt Di Angelo) faces being locked up for a cold-bloodied crime he didn’t commit, but some fans have been left distracted.

As fans of the BBC soap will know, Keanu (Danny Walters) attacked Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) on Christmas Day and threatened to take her young son Albie away with him.

The angry mechanic tried to strangle Sharon to death in The Queen Vic before he was stopped by Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) who stabbed him in the back with a meat thermometer.

The Six, including Linda, Sharon, Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), Denise Fox (Diane Parish), and Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) all framed Dean for the murder.

But Dean, who had previously raped Linda, is yet to be found guilty as his trial got underway during Monday’s episode (September 2), which is available to watch early on iPlayer, with The Six making an appearance and giving witness statements.

Stacey was the first to step up to the witness box and got through her cross-examination – sticking to the story and not crumbling under pressure.

But Sharon was up next and felt the wrath of Dean’s savage lawyer. She tried to convey her love for her former partner Keanu but was branded a liar before her statement was ripped to shreds.

However, it went from bad to worse when the paternity of Albie Watts was also discussed leaving Sharon fuming.

She was then portrayed as promiscuous and was tarnished for having four husbands, including brothers Phil (Steve McFadden) and Grant Mitchell (Ross Kemp).

Sharon’s anger began to boil over as Kathy, Stacey, Suki, and Denise watched on with worry as Phil was also in attendance.

After snapping at the judge one too many times, Sharon was found in contempt of court and was taken away by officers.

While wrestling with the guards outside the court, Linda arrived for her big moment before running away from the court as it all got too much.

Despite all of the gripping court drama, some eagle-eyed viewers were quick to point out The Six were each wearing the same colour as the night of Keanu’s murder.

For the big court case, Linda wore pink while her best pal Sharon dressed in white mimicking her wedding dress.

Suki donned a royal blue suit jacket, Kathy looked pretty in a purple dress and jacket, Denise stunned in a green top and Stacey wore a bold red blouse.

Taking to social media, viewers pointed out the coincidence, with one person writing: “Love that #TheSix are wearing their colours from Xmas night to the trial. Nice little touch there @bbceastenders #EastEnders.”

A second stated: “Not The Six wearing their iconic colours to court. I love these little details. #EastEnders.”

A third chimed in: “The Six all wearing their Christmas Murder Club colours is amazing. #EastEnders.”

“The Six women wearing their Christmas colours to court is such a serve #eastenders”, stated one viewer.

“I love how The Six are wearing their colours for court today. #EastEnders”, added another.

EastEnders airs Monday – Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One and iPlayer
