It’s set to be another dramatic week in Albert Square as Chrissie Watts makes a dramatic return to Walford, Anna Knight learns she’s pregnant and Jack Branning issues an update on the nightclub crush
EastEnders legend Chrissie Watts returns to Walford next week but what brings her back to Albert Square?
Bosses are keeping tight-lipped about why Sharon Watt’s (Letitia Dean) former stepmother is doing in Walford but her arrival is no doubt going to ruffle feathers.
Elsewhere, Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) tells Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) that she’s having a hard time, and he wants to cheer her up, but duty calls at Beales’s Eels, so he tries to enlist Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) to help.
Determined not to be alone with Anna, Freddie makes up a flimsy excuse that leaves Anna hurt. Later, Anna decides to ask Freddie if everything is okay between them, but she has a dizzy spell before she gets to him.
Anna goes to see Freddie, who insists everything is fine but won’t commit to going birdwatching together. When Anna suggests they go for food with Bobby and Gina Knight (Francesca Henry), Freddie thinks there is safety in numbers and agrees.
However, at Walford East, Gina and Bobby get sidetracked, and Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) teases them about being on a date, so Freddie flees, making up another weak excuse.
Anna is upset and confides in Gina, who resolves to find out what Freddie’s problem is and soon realises that Freddie has feelings for Anna, too. Anna’s troubles are exacerbated when she goes to find Freddie and then throws up in the café before she can speak to him properly.
Gina quizzes Anna about whether she could be pregnant. Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) almost catches Gina buying Anna a pregnancy test. At The Vic, Anna takes the test and discovers she’s pregnant with Bobby’s baby.
Meanwhile, Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) fusses around irritated Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd), who tells her that she needs space. Realising that Amy needs someone to talk to, Chelsea convinces Denzel Danes (Jayden Ladega) to visit Amy and lift her spirits.
Denzel still believes he’s to blame for Amy being at the club that night. Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) reveals that the police tech team are working on the corrupted footage of the crush, and they’ll soon know the true story of what happened that night. Will Chelsea come clean and reveal the nightclub crush was her fault?
